Like most angels, Ariel doesn't show emotions around other angels. They're reserved for humans only. Though if she's tested, she has been known to snap or show them. This is rare, as Areil almost always seems to have a calm or cold, uninterested presence. She is patiant, but has lost it before. There's a reason why she's sometimes referred to as the "Lioness of God".

Story:

Ariel is the archangel of nature, and often is depicted as Mother Earth. She's the second in command in Eternity, and works in the absence of The First One to keep Earth in order. She takes in other angels sometimes to train them, but never leaves Eternity herself. They are known to be the only archangel that appoints positions and roles to other angels. Since they're running Eternity, it's their job to keep everything in order. They take this very seriously.

Powers/Abilities:

Power of the Angel/Holy Light:

The power of the Angels is universal to all angels of all ranks/choirs. It is known as Holy Light, and includes: the ability to perform miracles, change appearance at will, talk to and understand animals (understood in their way of 'speaking', not talking like humans), and the ability to interact with/see spirits (mediumship).

Holy Light can create miracles such as: healing (illness and wounds), fixing/cleaning/mending objects/places, performing exorcisms, and conjuring minor things into existence (food, clothing, money, and small objects). Holy Light can purify dark magic/energy from objects, places, and people.

With the ability to change how an angel appears, they blend easier. Angels can go as far as to change hair color and length, skin color, height and size to a certain degree, and gender at will (they have no actual gender otherwise). They can't change species. HOWEVER, all angels are granted ONE animal disguise. Ariel can change form into a white Bengal tiger. As a tiger, they can still be understood by anyone whether those people can speak to animals or not.

Note: Ariel's holy light powers involve plants.

Angelic Blessing:

The blessing of an angel is like a protection from evil, offering safety to those blessed. When an angel blesses someone, they are giving a protection charm that’ll temporarily shield them from major harm. Though they can still be hurt, they won’t die, and the injury won’t be as bad. Angels can bless people causally (a simple 'bless you'). But it’ll fade in a few minutes.

If an angel blesses anyone of dark/unholy magic, it could harm them. It attacks their very essence or soul. As far as resurrection goes, this is specific to animals only. Once the soul is gone, however, angels can't do anything. The highest choir can create life, but can't bring the dead back. Angels can heal those with dark magic or anyone unholy, but they are generally unstable, and can fall apart and die.

Emotional Alteration:

Angels have the ability to alter other peoples’ emotions to a certain degree, such as calming anger, soothing pain and grief, creating peace in a person, and otherwise changing their feelings at the moment. This is mostly exclusive to humans, and some degree of others, but others have to be caught off-guard if stronger in will.

Because Ariel is an archangel, they have the ability to this to the other choirs/angels as well. Ariel is advanced enough in this that they don't need to wait until anyone's guard is lowered.

Memory Manipulation/Alteration:

Rare among angels, Ariel can control memories of themself in others. They can modify, fabricate, influence, and erase any memories from someone's mind that they or other angels were directly part of. Whenever they do this, it leaves one in a state of confusion with an almost amnesia-like affect. This is supposed to be used for removing the presence of angels when seen by humans.

Flight:

Ariel has the ability to fly with two sets of large, feathered wings that grow to full size (just taller than them) or disappear with a thought, or the removal of their halo in any way from their person. She can will them into existance whenever she wants, but she can't banish them away if she's not wearing their halo. Without it on their person at all, their wings appear unwillingly, and remain out until they put it back on, and banish them away.

Weaknesses:

Ariel can be hurt by anything dark or unholy. It will burn them to touch these things directly, then spread like an infection that they can’t heal himself from. The only fix is untainted ichor. Ariel can heal themself from regular wounds, but will end up exhausted. Like all angels, Ariel heals faster, though still will be out of it for a little bit.

Ariel is hard to possess, though it is possible to do. It can be especially dangerous, as it could kill them to be possessed by a dark or unholy magic/creature. Ariel is unable to lie (knowingly) without physical pain. They are, though, very good at hiding this, and don't lose any feathers.

If their halo is lost, destroyed, or they’re otherwise not wearing it for long, they could lose their wings permanently (they will blacken and burn away painfully). Any damage to their essence/soul, causing them to bleed straight ichor, is harm beyond a physical wound, and is harder to heal. Most angels can't heal this, as only the highest choir, The First One Herself, can.

Gabriel Subordinate

Ariel doesn't have any love or respect for Gabriel, who they push beyond what should be considered right at all. They rule him with terror and manipulation, never once relinquishing the control over him they have. It's known that Gabriel hides from Ariel, though not exactly why there's a tension between the two when they're both angels and work together, with Ariel being Gabriel's mentor and superior. Ariel is the reason Gabriel exists, they like to hold this over him.
