Background info
Originally just a denizen of Hell, Blott lived an average day-to-day lifestyle for a demon, only ever entering the mortal realm whenever they could to kill mortals to become stronger. It wasn't until Darcy's mother, Alma Alcott, attempted to summon them to protect their child where this sense of peace came to a halt. During the ritual, Alma used the wrong incantation and ultimately ended up fusing Blott to Darcy, causing Blott to be trapped in Darcy's subconsious for as long as they lived (which is now forever because of Darcy's new death god status). Blott could only interact with the outside world whenever Darcy was feeling a lot of a specific emotion, and even then it couldn't do much besides breaking objects around Darcy. Over the years, Blott has become jaded and has given up on escaping Darcy's subconsious, accepting the fact that they'd have to wait years until Darcy passes away.
Base game
When Darcy was given the Red Crown, Blott became able to communicate to Darcy in their dreams. At first, Blott sort of hated Darcy and wished that they give up the Red Crown, accepted their fate to die, & to be allowed to be set free, but Darcy wasn't going to give up on their mission that easily. As time went on, Blott gained a sort of respect for Darcy as they saw them take on the bishops. During Darcy's battle with Kallamar, Darcy became gravely injured. With Darcy on the verge of death, Blott was able to take control of the Red Crown and was able to seperate from Darcy's body for a short amount of time. After their seperation, Darcy gained some newfound energy and the two finished off Kallamar, with Blott returning to Darcy's subconsious shortly after. After the battle, the two became mutuals (not friends because Blott still didn't really like Darcy).
Relics of the Old Faith
Blott doesn't do much in this part of CotL's storyline except for seperating from Darcy's body when they're severely injured to help them finish off a monster.
Biology
As a Slicksnatcher, Blott's body is compromized of ink/tar that allows Blott to shapeshift & move in ways creatures without bones can't. Slicksnatcher demons are born with 1-3 eyes (Blott was born with one), however during full moons, Slicksnatchers can enter the mortal realm without the need of being summoned by a mortal in order to kill living creatures to devour their souls and grow stronger. By devouring the soul of a mortal, Slicksnatchers will gain another eye & will become able to shapeshift into more complex things. At first, Slicksnatchers are able to change into abstract structures as children, but the more souls they devour, the more they'll be cpapable of transforming into different things. Blott is able to change into animals (both humanoid like the cult members in-game & normal animals), a few monsters (like those catapillars from Darkwood & those small frogs from Anura), and was able to grow & disort their body parts (but it couldn't change their size to become larger & more threatening), but after getting fused to Darcy they can no longer devour souls. Since it's fused to Darcy, Blott also has control of the Red Crown, but they can only use it if Darcy is severely injured. Once they use the power of the Red Crown to seperate themselves from Darcy, Blott would basically revive Darcy with diseased hearts & the two could fight the enemy they're trying to take down. Once they do, Blott will return to Darcy's subconsious until Darcy is severely injured again. When exposed to any demon-repelling materials, Blott will become very weak and won't be able to use their abilities until they are taken away from the area containing the demon-repelling materials in question.
Other info:
- Blott used they/them/it pronouns (they're non-binary).
- Deep down, they really do care about Darcy.
- Was well known in Hell (or at least in the part of Hell where it lived) for being very attractive, however now that Blott is fused with Darcy not a single demon in Hell knows who Blott is.
- Blott doesn't just float around in the void in Darcy's subconsious; they do make their own fun for themselves by creating things in Darcy's subconsious like books, a chair, instruments, ect.
