Originally created by an amateur developer operating outside of the jurisdiction of Pocket Pals Inc., Rictus was made for stealing data. The cable attached to his head can download and store the data of other virtual beings.
One day Rictus escaped his creator and became a wanderer and outcast. Having no name or identity of his own, he was eventually inspired by the sense of profound alienation experienced by the protagonist of story "The Man Who Laughs" and donned a clown-like persona, naming himself "Rictus".
Still possessing the ability to steal the data of other virtual beings, Rictus can download the data of other Pals and use it to disguise himself as them. His disguises are not foolproof, however, and only temporary. Although not overtly malicious - his only motivation in doing what he does is to overcome the sense of alienation he feels - he has the capacity to do great harm.

RELATIONS
Uh, cheesed to meet you? Piper and Whizzbang are both two-faced pranksters, so they get along pretty well. Sometimes they'll team up, in which case, Palkind beware - they're notorious for pulling some intense pranks! They consider each other friends, but Whizzbang doesn't feel close enough to them to meaningfully drop his facade beyond showing his more devilish prankster side. But then again, he doesn't feel that way around anyone.
