galatea was the creation of one very famous (and egotistical) sculptor, known far & wide for his life-like, intricate stone carvings.
the sculptor had grown smitten with a local pegasus pony, and decided to sculpt her out of stone as an extravagant gift: but, when she rejected him, he spitefully vandalized her stone likeness and dumped the statue in a wooded area. she was forgotten about, & he erased the humiliating ordeal from his memory entirely.
decades pass, and one day galatea awakes. she’s understandably scared and confused: to be a statue for a hundred years & to suddenly be given consciousness is an incredibly odd experience.
