Adopt w/ Lore

Gurgle-Gurgle.  Pop. Pop. The Kelpie flinches as she dives her head slowly back  underneath the surface. She watched as the group moved through their  little camp. They seemed to have gotten their wagon stuck. It caused  quite a mix of feelings for the water horse. On one side, she could  easily lure them in and give in to her instincts, but her other half  made her stay below the water’s surface to observe. There were only  three at this quick makeshift camp. A short and stout fellow with a  large belly and hairy feet, a female with pale skin and pointed ears  large enough that the Kelpie wondered if it made going through narrow  areas hard, and lastly, a tall dark-skinned humanoid with thick sheets  of material that Kelpie came to known as armor.

They talked back and forth or to the Kelpie's ears made noises that  sounded more rapid than the other animals' sounds. While not knowing the  language itself, she was sure they were lost as many brave adventures  happened when traveling near her home. One of the party members, the  shortest one, moved away from the group. He held up a weapon that was  curved with a string attached to each end. He wiggled it in the air and  then shouted something. The dark-skinned humanoid crossed their arms  over their chest, shook their head, and looked over to the pointed-ear  female. The female tossed her hands in the air and soon followed the  short male. With a heavy sigh, the tallest humanoid gave in and followed  the other two into the thicken.

This was the Kelpie's chance. With a quick wiggle, she grabbed onto the  bank and used a thump of her tail to pull herself into the mud. Due to  the texture of the mud against her smooth skin, she could easily get to  her hooves. She stumbled forward as walking on land was always a  struggle for her as she much preferred the safety of the water. Even so,  she bolted over to the wagon and squatted down to the wheel. "Yep." She  thought. "Pretty stuck." She quickly grabbed the wheel and with a quick  tuck, she pulled upward on the cart. It seemed to struggle as much as  she was with lifting it. The more she pulled the more she had to put her  back into it before long a loud slopsh sound was heard.

With a shaking shark tail and wobbling legs, she was able to free the  wheel. She quickly sat it slightly to the side before bolting back to  the water. With a quick climb over a sunken tree trunk, she dove into  the deeper part of the water and hid just as she heard footsteps coming  from behind her. She swirls in the water facing back to the party.   Lucky for this green Kelpie, the group of misfits was far more concerned  about the short male dragging them out into the thicken than noticing  the little water ripples she made.

With peering blue eyes, the Kelpie once again watched the trio. Their  sounds hawked at each other. It was a good while before the female  noticed the wagon was in a different position. She rushed over to it  followed by the humanoid and the male with stubby legs. They seemed  otherly confused about how it got unstuck but thankful nonetheless. With  this in mind, the party quickly started to pack up the tent, cool the  campfire, and put all the material back into the cart.

It was nearing sundown before everything was put back in the right  spots. The animals guiding the wagon were reattached and the trio was  ready to drive out. A part of the swamp-colored Kepie felt sad to see  them go as there weren't many who traveled the old roads yet the darker  side of her that was a predator was disappointed.. Raising her hand  above her shoulders and breaking the surface of the moss-covered water,  she waved goodbye as the wagon and the odd trip disappeared out of her  view. With a heavy gurgle, the water creature flips her fin and dives  deeper into the depths of the waters she called her home.
