Profile
Garo's age and origin is unknown. He's often seen wandering the countryside, occasionally appearing in markets selling all sorts of unusual wares. His stock mostly consists of trinkets or other supernatural related items. People claim that the wares he sells are cursed in some way. Garo is no normal merchant however.
You could say Garo is some kind of "Grim reaper" or "Angel of death" as he travels around collecting souls. Often from ones that haven't found peace or ones which reek of evil. As well as collecting spirits from dying people, he also collects wandering souls he finds on his travels. He uses the souls he collects to make his masks, which he uses to cover up the fact that he has no head.
No one really knows how he lost his head. Some speculate he was beheaded for witchcraft or sorcery, others believe he was created this way. Some believe death himself sent him to scare and kill innocent people. Although no-one has ever seen him actually kill or harvest any souls.
Personality.
Being unable to speak, no-one really knows what Garo’s thoughts and needs are. What his intentions and ambitions are, or what personality he truly has. He seems harmless enough, but children are scared of his odd appearance and adults are skeptical to approach him.

Garo uses souls he’s collecting to conjure masks for him to wear. The appearance of the mask is determined by the souls it’s created from. Sad masks derive from souls that had a tragic life, while happy masks derive from the opposite. All masks however will always have some eerie feel to them and look unsettling.
Garo has the ability to float in the air. Sometimes he prefers this over walking. However he usually just uses the ability to keep his masks in place covering his headless neck.
Garo is missing some of his left leg, to hide it he uses liquid manipulation to shape his black unknown liquid into a claw. Some think it’s some sort of solidified shadow acting like water. He can manipulate other liquids like water and blood, but he usually doesn’t.
Trivia.
- Wears a cloak that protects him from light allowing him to enter cities selling his goods.
- He’s a tall Noxidae, measuring around 2 meters.
- The trinkets he sells contain small remnants of his black liquid, and when the buyer later dies, Garo will know and come to collect their soul.
- Switches masks based on the setting he is in, and what mask would be most fitting in his current situation.
- Does not talk or make any sounds due to the lack of vocal cords.
