It is said that the firstborn of the draconic was once a (human) cast into the heart of a volcano to appease a god that didn't exist. The (earth) took pity on this man as the volcano erupted and held so tightly onto his soul that the flame could do him no harm. After his people had burned in the magmatic explosion, (earth) let him float back to the surface. His skin hardened into the cracked mantle of ore and stone that became our scales. Horns and tail formed from the magma that dripped from his body as he walked from his once-tomb.
