Omen

Looking around in some confusion, the parent gave a deep frown as they looked around their surroundings, tensing when they suddenly saw a blindfolded female with their pup in her arms. Black sand swirling around her as the sandy gold of her markings began to slowly turn black. The black sand forming above the pups head into the form a butterfly. 

"A messenger and a guide. Burdened to carry heavy news, intentionally or not, they will be the messenger of bad news and great sadness. They will move through the lives of others, their presence light, a quick passage, like the gentle flutter of a butterflies wings. But the news they bring will be devastating for many... let us hope their heart is strong enough to bare it." she told the parent, handing the pup over. When they woke, the parent moved quickly to look to her pup, sucking in a breath as they saw black sand littered all around the pup, and a black butterfly perched upon its shoulder.
