About
Upon looking at Moreau there's no doubt that there's some off about the browbird. Covered in far too many eyes and squirming, prehensile branches that seem eager to ensnare someone who dares to edge too close, they often make other's skin crawl.
Moreau snuck into the Celestial Seas through a void fissure and was dug out of a shallow grave by the attending grounds keeper. They insist to everyone who asks that they cannot recall how they got there or who they were prior to waking up. While a poorly fronted lie, it's better to keep such secrets close to their chest. Upon studying the individual who had unearthed them they mimicked the form of his species, taking inspiration and parts from the bodies consumed in the cemetery. With some embellishments of their own they stood as a rough caricature of a browbird.
Unbeknownst to the bird that had found Moreau, he had just dug up a creature that had escaped the Abyssal Void.

Story
Pre-Browbird
Before the Celestial Seas there was the Abyssal Void. Life was very different, dark and squirmy. A fissue in the seas allowed the spawn to slip through and into a new plane it had yet to wander. It'd found itself in a graveyard where it ate its fill of what could be dug back up. After taking a nice little nap with a full belly Bram dug the creature out of its dirt mound where it realized it needed to blend in fast. Lucky for the parasite the grounds keeper who found it had been more curious than murderous.
Browbird
Moreau was named by Bram and taken in under his wing after being dug up. Whether it was out of pity, curiosity or to extort the strange creature in the future is unknown to the spawn. Regardless of the reasoning, Moreau has no issues with Bram. He teaches them much about the new and strange world while keeping the more dangerous hunters off of their tail.

Trivia
- Moreau is a void parasite that just so happened to find a doorway into the Celestial Seas.
- If someone were to look close enough they could swear that the eyes in Moreau's markings were moving.
- When the spawn is overly stressed or overstimulated they tend to "bleed" from their eyes/mouth/nose. The liquid is less blood and more their very form threatening to break its disguise.
- Despite appearances Moreau is quite curious and enthusiastic. Learning about the new plane has been an exciting deviation from their otherwise parasitic lifestyle in the unending darkness.
- Moreau doesn't sleep, but they will curl and cuddle around others while they sleep. Their tail is almost always curled around someone.
Related
Bram is the poor sod who dug Moreau up. He keeps them by his side and out of trouble, even after learning what the strange creature truly was. Through some utter buffoonery the two end up really growing to care for one another. Bram, though outwardly dismissive, is fiercely protective of Moreau and does not stand for the voidspawn being tormented or hunted.
Bram has no idea how both he and Moreau managed to actually have browlets, but one day there was two eggs and he found himself disgusted in the fact that he was a father. As soon as the eggs hatched he was attached to the babies however, and there was no way to get Moreau away from the browlets. Part of him hoped the voidspawn would eat their young, but not the case! Spat is the bitey trouble maker of the two.
Bram has no idea how both he and Moreau managed to actually have browlets, but one day there was two eggs and he found himself disgusted in the fact that he was a father. As soon as the eggs hatched he was attached to the babies however, and there was no way to get Moreau away from the browlets. Part of him hoped the voidspawn would eat their young, but not the case! Usher is the cryptic and odd child of the two.
Try as he might, he hasn't been able to slay the voidspawn quite yet. Moreau is slippery and powerful, which is something that bothers the hell out of Aleister, nevermind that Bram had to get involved and now too protects the spawn.
Isaac has taken a peculiar interest in the strange little undertaker family. He's offered his services in protecting the group from hunters like Aleister for what appears to be no price at all. Bram is wise enough to know better, but Moreau just thinks of Isaac as "the funny bird with a big hat who smiles a lot". He can smell the void on him though, which keeps Moreau both curious and wary.
