Adopt w/ Lore

The kitsune wasn't like most of his kind. He did not partake in trickery or feasting on the souls of others. He much preferred to be lost deep in the woods with the animals he came to know by heart. Out of all the creatures, he has the softest spot for the butterflies that gathered outside his home. Hundreds seemed to feast here on the fresh flowers that dotted the meadows. At times he enjoyed simply sitting in the middle and watching them and if he was lucky they got close. Staying very still, he watched as a few started to land in his hair, on his shoulder, and legs. He said a soft hello not dare being louder than a whisper. They seemed to like him.

He felt himself slowly drifting off when there was a soft tinkling nose,  he snapped his head up to see what all he could say was a fay. The fay tilts her head before holding out her hand. "A gift to those whom you  protect." Deep yellow and orange butterfly wings spread from her back and instead of flapping these wings, she simply hovered. The kitsune was weary of such a being but he reached out. Her small hand barely touched his clawed finger before he felt a warm sensation coursing through his back.

With a blink of his blue eyes, the beautiful fay was all but gone and he could feel his back ache now that the warmth faded. Looking over his shoulder, he could see his own set of wings that matched his pelt. He instinctively felt them flap before he jumped up off the ground. He didn't know if this was a dream but he didn't want to wake up. He was finally closer to the little ones that he loved so much. However,  whatever did the fay want in return?
