Diamond

A cold, uncaring businessman who pursues nothing but pure profit for himself and the IPC. Diamond is a very closed off and intimidating man who seems to only focus on his job- he makes allies, not friends- and seems to always be on the clock. Apathetic to the struggles of others and sees everything in life as sets of transactions. Not out to hurt people, but wouldn't even try to prevent harm if it hurt his numbers or performance. However, he takes the character of "stern but well meaning uncle" in public. He's cold and strict, but acts like he does care about people's far future and insists his actions will benefit them (financially/economically) in the future. So his image is pretty good- as good as the IPC can get.

Diamond was born as the eldest child of an IPC board member. He never really knew hardship as a kid, and was groomed into the role of working for the IPC when he was older. He is older than Topaz, but definitely young for a Board Member in the IPC. He can afford apathy towards people's lives because he himself hasn't suffered in his entire life. All he can see are numbers. Topaz hesitated a bit and helped at the end because her planet was "saved" by the IPC and she was basically drafted to work for them. Diamond does not give a shit because he was born into the IPC.

Canon character (mentioned), but this is a fan design + characterization. Starling and his first interactions was her beating the shit out of him and beating up his guards too until the Express Crew dragged her off of him. Starling hates capitalists (Diamond) more than terrorists (Kafka).
