“Astral Elf” (Dhampir), Way of Mercy Monk
Looking for: a way to save his twin sister
Meredith is part of a prestigious program that works on inscribing complex runes into the bones and flesh of voluntary patients to enhance their natural abilities. While working on this, Meredith experimented on himself and it went… less than great. His Way of Mercy monk abilities are due to his carvings, but it has a major drawback. With a new, overwhelming hunger for the life force of living things, Meredith turned to hunting invasive species to survive somewhat normally. His sister is currently dying of an unknown illness (or curse) and is headed to the astral sea with their parents to help slow down the process. Along with his sister’s fiancee, Meredith is trying to find a way to save her.
In the beginning of having his newfound powers and hunger, Meredith found out that the local coroner who provides donated bodies for the academic program is a vampire, and the man takes pity on him and helps him with managing his hunger in exchange for Meredith’s blood. Meredith is trying so, so hard not to be openly horny about it and is failing so, so miserably. Conway thinks it’s hilarious.
Meredith also is a little bit of a rowdy boy under that academic facade and has been practicing his monk skills in the local fight clubs where he also might, maybe, be stealing just a little bit of life energy from his opponents. Just a little though.
