Profile

Cedar Blossom is the main bodyguard of Princess Euthalia and the captain of the fae who protect the Twilit Forest. Velour Eventide, who is currently in a parallel world, was once a pupil of hers when she was a trainee in the guard.

Cedar is the definition of maintaining a kind and cheery attitude while staying professional. Even in stressful and scary situations, she’s able to keep a cool head and guide her guard to safety—even though they may need to pull back. She’s fawned upon for her beauty and her attitude, and it’s not uncommon for her to have many an admirer.

Working with the Princess is not a job anyone would ask for. Euthalia is notoriously bossy, difficult, and self-important. She tends to call Cedar on a whim, even when she doesn’t need her urgently. In fact, Cedar even being assigned to Euthalia was because of a straw draw. Cedar drew the shortest one, and was assigned as Euthalia’s bodyguard as result. To be frank, Cedar is one of the few fae who figured out how to put up with Euthalia and her shit. Her guard’s respect went up by 1000% with how Cedar has managed to stick with Euthalia and hasn’t been driven mad.

Cedar maintains a professionally polite attitude and manages to stay optimistic around Euthalia, even though she doesn’t necessarily like her. Euthalia has a not-so-well hidden crush on Cedar (which Cedar is aware of and resents), though the princess would be the last person to admit it. Cedar can easily recall the time she vaguely mentioned the idea to Euthalia, and how the princess then proceeded to bitch her out for even suggesting the idea. Cedar knows Euthalia has pressure on her with being the next in line to become the Titania of the Twilit Forest. But Fae Queen Almighty, would an attitude check really be so damn hard?? She knows the adjustment will come one day. Eventually. Maybe. Fae having a long lifespan is no excuse for the wait.

Velour was given an assignment to protect the order between the parallel worlds and is off on a special mission to do so. Cedar does miss her, and appreciates the letters Velour is able to send from time to time. Velour was her best pupil, and they had a really close relationship as Velour trained to be where she was today.

Magic-wise, there’s a reason Cedar has the position she does. She can command the plantlife of the Twilit Forest to her will. She’s able to morph her magic wand trinket into whatever weapon she needs. She prefers to change it into twin sickles or pole-weapons, and she has a stone shield she keeps on her to minimize damage to plant life. She’s not as speedy as her associates, but her strength and grit make up for it. She does worry about the future, however, even if she’s not great at openly expressing it.

She looks forward to the day that things go back to normal and when there aren’t constant threats to worry about.
