Background info
Annie was born in Octopia & raised on a farm by her parents until the events of Splatoon 2's story mode. Upon hearing there'd be another "concert" being hosted by DJ Octavio, Annie's parents knew for sure that chaos would ensue just minutes after the "concert" ended, so the family ended up moving to Inkopolis one day before the fight between Agent 4 & DJ Octavio happened. Annie struggled to adjust to her new life in Inkopolis, but eventually she finally felt confortable living on the surface. Once she turned 14, she got a job at Grizzco and was one of the best employees Mr. Grizz ever had, which made her a perfect target for Mr. Grizz's plan to turn all marine life on Earth into mammals. Around the time Splatoon 3's Return of the Mammalians trailer released, Mr. Grizz knocked out Annie after one of her shifts and took her to Alterna, where she'd be turned into a mammoctoling and forget who she was beforehand (because of how she was knocked out). Shortly after waking up as a mammalian for the first time (which was some time after she had converted into a mammoctoling), Annie panicked, escaped the lab she woke up in, and found a manhole back to Inkopolis, where she'd eventually meet April & her friends. After finding out about Annie's escape, Mr. Grizz began to organize & train a group of elite octolings over the course of 11 months in order to locate Annie and bring her back to Alterna.
Pre-Splatoon 3 (just days before the actual game released)
A group of mammoctoling soldiers go to Inkopolis Square & raid the area in search of Annie. Not knowing what the mammoctolings are capable of & not wanting to find out themselves, Annie & her friends packed their things up & catched a bus to Splatsville, just barely escaping the square.
Splatoon 3 (RotM)
Annie works alongside April & Kandi as Agent Sabertooth in April's hero mode. However, after the battle against Big Man, Annie gets kidnapped by an octoling soldier working for Mr. Grizz & gets taken right to Mr. Grizz himself, who managed to replicate the exact technology DJ Octavio used to create Callie's hypnoshades in order to create a special pair of shades just for Annie. In order just to mess with April, Mr. Grizz takes Annie to space with him for the final battle, where Annie would help defend Mr. Grizz whenever April & Kandi pop one of his fuzzy ooze bubbles. At the end of the 3rd phase of the fight, however, April throws Kandi at Annie as a last-ditch effort to try to save Annie, which is proven to be successful as Kandi eats all the fuzz off of Annie, effectively returning her to her normal octoling form & allowing Annie to remember who she was before she became a mammoctoling. However, Annie gets knocked out by Kandi in the process, only to be awakened right before the final phase of the fight. During the final phase of the fight, Annie splats all the mammalians trying to take down the Octobot King while April pilots the mech & Kandi distracts Mr. Grizz in her king salmonid form. Upon returning to Splatsville after the battle, Annie decides to live with April & Kandi in their apartment.
Splatoon 3 (Post RotM) (Around the time the Expansion Pass was first revealed)
Annie & her friends to an apartment complex somewhere close to Inkopolis Plaza.
Biology
As a pearl octopus-type octoling, Annie's hair and her cheeks in humanoid form & her swim form have a pearlescent luster to them. Other than that, there isn't much to say here since Annie's pearlescence doesn't really affect any of her capabilities.
Other info:
- After the events of RotM, Annie became close friends with April & Kandi and became one of Kandi's best friends.
- Annie is a very talented visual artist.
- Annie adores the Judds & will always bring them food when she enters the lobby.
- Annie gets easily scared of horror movies; she only watches them with Kandi & April in order to try to face her fear of horror in general (it never works).
- Reads books on a daily basis, specifically manga, romance, & fantasy.
- Dreams of her very own prince charming to come whisk her way to some sort of fantasy world.
