protective | resolute | candid | vindictive

seeing the world in absolutes, denarius walks a fine line between enlightened and callow. there is right and there is wrong. there is good and there is evil. there is everyone else (greed-tainted filth) and there is him (a self-serving yet marginally lesser monstrosity). denarius's grasp on such convictions is unwavering and to sway its unyielding persistence would be a herculean feat. despite his stubbornness, he is somewhat aware of his own hypocrisy and does not think itself significantly higher than the rest.

denarius displays an innate resourcefulness that was unlikely to have been taught—it wasn't taught much to begin with. his solutions, while not always rational, much less moral, are generally founded in a degree of practicality. otherwise, denarius pays little mind to intellectual matters and prefers the usage of overgeneralized schemas and stubborn ignorance over thoughtful contemplation. he is quick to judge, and even quicker to let such opinions be known, though a hot-headed streak and consistently impulsive behaviour argues that theoretical talk is no match for direct action. rather trigger-happy, denarius does not shy away from resorting to violence or other similarly brutal means, especially in the name of so-called retribution, but he is equally as likely to exhibit what is best dubbed as fatalistic apathy.

under better circumstances, denarius could have been just: righteous, generous, and unafraid to fight against the many wrongs of the world. however, the embittered husk which remains is certainly not a hero and, if anything, seems to derive a genuine pleasure from the suffering of others, wholly believing it to be what society, in all of its doomed existence, ultimately deserves.
