Criminal Sancho Romero
Detective Coonan's rival, Sancho, is a manipulative and sly criminal.
Sancho grew up with a relatively normal childhood as a lower class kid growing up in a middle class area. Because he was so poor, often times he'd wind up stealing a little bit here and there because that was the only way he'd be able to get certain things he wanted, like snacks, toys, or games. His parents worked hard though weren't paid very much, so he began to have to think selfishly in order to get certain things. He had an older sister as well who married off to someone richer when he was in his early teens and saw as she slowly became a victim to domestic abuse.
Several years later, his older sister was murdered by what he suspected was her husband at the time. Detective Coonan was assigned to the case however was never able to find enough evidence to counter the husband's expensive lawyers smooth talking. The husband was soon deemed as innocent even though the little evidence they had was all pointed at him, and because of this Sancho wound up having a deep hatred towards Coonan.
As he grew older, without the support of his older sister and because his parents couldn't work as much anymore, he began to resort to stealing and sometimes even murder, even more. Using what he basically learned from his late older sister's husband, the murders he commits often have little to no damning evidence against him, and he and Coonan are often at odds. A couple times, Sancho has confronted Coonan with the intent to kill but Coonan usually gets out of it.
