The second-youngest of Persepia's unicorns, Selene is a somewhat precocious young adult who spends much of their time travelling the world. Much like her forebears, she studies chaos energy, the way it interacts with the environment, and the many chaos-powered gemstones and artefacts that litter the face of the planet. Unlike the rest of their people, Selene was outside of Persepia when the shield went up, leaving them cut off from the others outside of calls or emails. She's not too bothered by it, but she does miss spending time with Jade.

Personality

Selene is a fairly reserved person; they keep many of their throughts and feelings to themself, often changing the subject if they don't ignore questions outright. This doesn't stop her from making her opinion very known when she feels it's important, however. Being older than most humans and mobians they meet, they can get a little condescending towards those they perceive as less experienced, although it's not always warranted. At her core, however, Selene truly wants to do what's best for her people and for the planet as a whole, and will fight furiously to defend them.

History

Selene, like all unicorns, was made rather than born. They were created at the behest of Sterling Silver, a unicorn of several hundred years at the time, who wanted to train an heir. Sterling wasn't exactly a good parent, but Selene wanted for nothing as a child, and she quickly found a knack for power enhancement as her colours came in.

Selene was roughly in the unicorn equivalent of their teens when Sterling staged his attempted takeover of the council. While she was uninvolved with Sterling's plans, she was still involved in the investigation as a witness. When Sterling was finally caught, Selene expressed their disgust quite openly, and scrubbed his name from the property they inherited from him.

After this, Selene began making trips out into Mobius to study novel manifestations of chaos energy. While they largely pretended they weren't bothered by Sterling's betrayal of their people, they were deeply hurt by it and wanted to stay out of the city as much as possible afterwards. This lead to her being deep in the rainforests of Mazuri when Earth and Mobius merged and Persepia was subsequently sealed off from the rest of the world.

Current Day

Selene spends most of their time chasing new chaos veins and analysing hot spots of chaos concentration. With humans now being a common fixture of the new combined world, the importance of mapping high anarch areas is paramount. Concentrations of chaos that could kill a human in seconds are nothing to a unicorn... And right now, she's the only one they've got.
