Current Progress:

Contract a small-time, tech-savvy villain to hack into the security cameras around the city so she has an alert system to know which superheroes would best respond to which events happening.  “Somewhat of a success. While the others were not too happy, they seemed to tolerate the end result enough to allow integrating the surveillance system into their methods.” - EclipsePolice were too reliant on iconoclast dealing with the issues while they just come in after. Establish a “Red Phone” system in the police headquarters to let them know where to go and when to be ready, and have them step up their game for normal crimes. Have the police clear out bystanders who get too close to fights, police should be protecting the citizens. They likely arent going to change if she just goes in and asks them to, so she was thinking of threatening the chief of police, but maybe she will run that idea past the others first.“Conflicting moral values got in the way, and there wasn't time to address the matter with more important things at hand.”  - Eclipse“Dragonfly has strong conficted feelings about the means I use. Perhaps it would be better if I were to defer to him for the time being.” “If theres a possibility that I am interfering with the other heroes trying to keep the city safe, perhaps they would be better off if I leave.” “Futureman believes in me as who I am. That means more to me than anything else.”

Vanessa’s initial plans for Central Gate:

Install a network monitoring every event that goes on and gauge its threat to the city Create direct communication with the police force to establish when something should or shouldn't be handled by them. Subcontract villains and heroes alike to do the work she cant do on her own.  Strong arm the city/local gov into allotting taxes towards heroes fees along with police budget to fund these changes Get paid babeeeyy 💰💰💰

Notes:

Central Gate

Highly populated, Dallas/San Francisco

Dr. Iconoclast

Mysteriously appeared, spells/magical artifacts/familiars, death: Phantom Hex?

Powers:

Vanessa’s hexes involve summoning otherworldly chains. These chain links appear either as glistening light if meant to be magical restraints, or cold metal if meant to be physical. The metal is non-magnetic, and strong, but can be broken with enough force. She can control the chains at will, and attach them to sturdy objects. The magical versions of these restraints can limit abilities and powers.

Backstory:

Vanessa was once a lowly henchman of another villain, who cursed her when she rose through the ranks and defected from them. Using her new powers, she grew to become an up and coming villain, until one day, she suddenly turned around to join the good side.

Vanessa was spiraling into her own depression. She attempts suicide, but a hero finds her and helps her find a new path (Futureman, maybe?) To everyone else, something happened to the promising villain one day that caused her to return, not entirely a different person, but with a new direction to her life.

With a black streak on her past, Eclipse wants to do better now. Shes desperate to bury her past and have others see she isnt the villain she used to be. Eclipse has been doing small charitable works with her powers, but she needs to be recognized farther than her small town. Eclipse is hoping that becoming Central Gate’s patron will be big enough to shadow her turbulent history. She is hoping that her similarity to Dr. Iconoclast will be a card in her hand towards gaining the people’s favor.

Eclipse looked up to Dr. Iconoclast as a magic-user even when Eclipse was a villain, and Eclipse was emotionally impacted by Dr.I’s death much like losing a celebrity. Eclipse attends the funeral to outwardly show to the other heroes that she is not in her villainous ways. She is preparing herself to face Phantom Hex.
