Disassembly Drone

character quote

about

Serial Designation B and his sister, Serial Designation A, were the first Murder drones created by JCJenson. Because they were the first, they were designed without the overheating clause and were simply expected to follow their code. This worked for a while, but unfortunately for the Parent company, both drones went rouge

backstory

Serial Designations B and A were the first and second murder drones JCJensons developed. Prototypes, if you will. Because you can't make everything right on the first try, the duo were not equipped with the overheating clause that actively forces drones to kill or die themselves. The twins were merely expected to follow their code. This worked for a while, A enjoying killing more than her sibling. However, it eventually got boring for them. Well, it became boring for A.
Serial Designation B, on the other hand, never liked killing to begin with. It didn't sit right with them that he and his sister were murdering innocent drones that had done nothing except exist. So, they had a talk with their sister about it. While she was originally unhappy with him for disobeying company orders, they were the only thing each other had in the world. While technically not related in the slightest, because they had grown up and developed together, they grew close and considered each other siblings.

However, A was growing tired of hunting and killing herself, so both drones went rogue. They decided to become adventurers of sorts, traveling around copper 9. For the first two years, everything was good. They found lots of cool things, and discovered a broken down city to take roots in. Both of them grew fond of the idea of bats after learning what they were, and coined the last name Darkwing for themselves. Along with that, Serial Designation A decided to call herself Alathea, and Serial Designation B decided to call himself Baravi, or Ravi for short.

The two drones found and decided to call an old human thrift store their main base of operations, liking the homey feeling it gave off. Baravi found an old human record player, and was initially startled when it began playing music after he had bumped into it. However, he grew to love the jazz that poured out of it, drawing or playing along to it when they weren't out. Sometimes Alathea would join him, but she found that she preferred pop music.

She also discovered her love for inventing things after finding an old toolbox and a beginner's Manual in the same store. She had discovered her love for pop music after finding an old jukebox, and managed to rig it so they didn't need to use human money to hear their favorite songs. She also managed to figure out how to power the rest of the store after a few months of working on smaller projects.

Baravi and Alathea grew into themselves over those two years, switching between exploring and staying home. Baravi even picked up how to play the guitar after finding one that wasn't ruined. He fixed it up the best he could, and loved that thing to pieces. Unfortunately, their fun came to an end when new drones came to town. They were sent to pick up Baravi and Alathea's slack, and kill them on sight for going rogue.

The new Murder Drones didn't really have a choice in the matter either, the parent company having learned its lesson. The twins had to flee their home, taking what they could carry with them. It was the two of them vs however many drones the company was sending out, so much to Alathea's rage and disappointment, they ran. Baravi desperately wanted to help the worker drones that were being slaughtered, but as they were Murder Drones themselves, doubted that they would allow themselves to be helped.

They hid in a new city that was already occupied by 4 drones, but they didn't care at that point. They were both tired of running, and Baravi convinced Alathea that they could quietly coexist if they stayed hidden. Their plan seemed to work for the most part, only falling through when Baravi cracked and decided to try and quietly play a song on his guitar after a few moths. He forgot to be quiet halfway through, and was discovered by Serial Designation D, a doglike Murder Drone that was especially good at hearing.

Serial Designation D sprung into action, snapping Baravi's guitar in half. Baravi's cry of surprise alerted his sister, and the three engaged in a brawl. The fight was cut short when one of the newer Murder Drones, Serial Designation V, as they would find out, forced D to go offline by hitting the dog drone hard enough on the head with a frying pan. The Murder Drone looked unimpressed by the sibling’s surprise and mistrust, but she stated that if she hadn't knocked her companion out, Serial Designation N and the ‘purple thing’ (who they would later find her name to be Uzi) wouldn't have been able to. N purely because of his emotional attachment D, and D would maul Uzi before she got the chance to, as she was a Worker Drone.

The only reason Uzi wasn't currently decapitated was because she had apparently blasted N's head off with her railgun, and had a ‘chat’ with him after he regenerated. This caused N to rebel against the company, and slowly caused everyone in his group to reform. V was still very much herself, but D didn't touch Uzi because N liked her. D always followed through with his orders, and would have fought to the death had V not saved them.

This eased the tension between the groups, and as they spent time with each other, Alathea and Uzi clicked almost immediately with their mutual appreciation for inventing things. N and Baravi got along quite well too, and Baravi, for the most part, got along with V. When D came online again, N had to practically beg the dog drone not to kill the twins. Thankfully he backed off, though not without attitude. The siblings would then occasionally tag along with their adventures, joining in on their fun. Together, the group would always have each other's backs- no matter which traumatic experience would meet them next.
