Kira

Left without parents and banished from her clan at the age 12, she got picked up by a circus troupe one rainy day, there she made her new family and learnt various skills ranging from knife throwing, sword fighting to acrobatics although her primary job was being a clown. Unfortunately there’s not much place for peace in her life and a few years later, that too ended when someone set fire to the circus tent during one of the performances and the troupe was forced to go their own separate ways. Equipped in just a few gold coins, a sword and a not so ordinary donkey named Maurice (whose actual name is Honey and they’re a banished god, but that’s a story for another time) she became a mercenary.

On her journey she met Aiden, a human fueled by the vision of revenge on gods, blaming them for the loss of his best friend. Kira, not learning from her previous experiences and frankly having a heart that’s too big for her own good, quickly became attached and they became like siblings to each other, not wanting to lose another important person in her life, she followed him on the path of revenge. As one may expect though, trying to fight gods never ends well and Kira once again was on her own.

Heartbroken by yet another loss, she frankly started giving up on herself, she went back to being a mercenary and started taking on more and more impossible commissions hoping that perhaps she finally won’t come back from the next one. And I guess even banished gods have a limit to how much pain they can overlook because Honey (Maurice) decided to drop their disguise as a donkey and set it as their purpose to slowly put back the broken pieces together. It was a very slow process and it took a lot of convincing that she’s not doomed to being abandoned over and over again but eventually it did start getting better, and although the scars never fully healed she slowly started coming back to her old bubbly self, got a job as a royal guard and allowed herself to create new bonds with others.
