Taro's Links
"oh her? she makes really good tea. very sweet lady, cute rabbit to boot!" ... "do NOT imply that. she had a husband. I had a wife. I... I wonder how she's doing, sometimes. Layla- she... she reminds me of her.."
Taro is such a kind hearted man but he's weighted with regrets. He's been through quite a lot in his previous life, so I hope he gets to experience more joy as a palaka.
Oh! I noticed that he enjoys it when I let him pet Bebek, and it seems like Bebek quite like it as well. Perhaps I can let them meet more often.
"he's a sad sad man. a lot of regrets left over from when he was alive.." ... " how? of course I can tell. like attracts like after all."
"oh- HA! that guy doesn't bite! he looks very stern but he's actually kinda squishy." ... "I mean that he's soft hearted, don't look at me like that! he's surprisingly really good company."
"she seems friendly enough, if not too eager... sorry, that's rude, I shouldn't say that. especially when she's been nothing but kind to me."
"um taro here.." she threw a tomato in his face before running away appolagizing
"fuck that guy!" ... "why do I- why WOULDN'T I hate him, huh? he's- eugh... well. I don't really hate HIM, per se. it's complicated... he's not- right, I wouldn't call him a good guy either, but he's not a bad person. he has good intentions. I know that" ... "why? well, it's just- hearing him talk the way he does drives me up a wall sometimes, I can't STAND him."

"eugh- them?? Shik's an asshole through and through. pride as high as the sky and beyond. I'd call if hubris if they didn't have the skills to back it up, unfortunately" ... "friends- us?! Hyang forbid. drinking buddies, at most. I wouldnt go THAT far."
"If I had the chance, I would've strangled him for the disrespect. It fell onto me to educate this one to noble-etiquette, as a-" Hmmm. "-a gesture for a newly formed acquaintanceship."
If 'Shik were anymore dishonorable, he can and would murder Taro for his cloak, a prize he envies.
Notes to write up later: fish for veggie. Also teach him how to fish. Solidarity on missing family.
"one of the more pleasant encounters I've had from a bar, really. he's- hahh... he'd been hurt before. badly. by some sort of war he and his fellows are waging against his- I don't know. king?? higher power?? it's complicated." ... "what I think of him? I'm not sure. I can't tell, he's so familiar it hurts sometimes. Like h y a n g I can't tell you the shape of his wounds, but I have a good idea just how deep it runs. looking at him makes me want to actually get drunk sometimes.."
"... I hope he can find something for him in Beringin. I know it's naive, but.. maybe I can find mine too."
[Birds of a feather flock together. That is the case in the seedy, melancholic bars of Beringin. Here sits a man who’s drunk enough to be one step away from fading away, across another whose resentment is palpable enough from a simple glance-up. They fight the same war, centuries apart.]
[With an arid, world-weary smile, he offers up a hand to the sky and a toast to the other man.]
“May you, too, find your peace, Warrior.”
"Kaito? ah, the samurai by the shore. yeah I know him, tho I don't think he'd ever introduced himself to me before, ha! well, not that it matters much." ... "hmm, I WOULD consider him a friend, yes. he's a lovely guy. a bit quiet and a lot reserved, but with the right prompting he's actually quite friendly. a really good listeners and surprisingly wise beyond his years. something about how calm he is makes the world feel.. peaceful.. somehow."
“A strangely welcome companion on my rounds. I enjoy listening to him; he often has many interesting and unique recollections, and his method of storytelling is… enrapturing.
Taro is someone I… look forward to.”
