Bright Star

Star Chart is the son of Twilight Sparkle and Flash Sentry, and bears a lot of responsibility as Twilight's only child. He loathes the galas, the dinners, the press conferences, the pomp and circumstance- It all seems so shallow to him, and he hates having to take part. He's very good at playing the role of the dedicated and polite prince, but in truth, he would much rather be up in his tower, observing the night sky and plotting the stars, comets, and planets. Though his official title is Prince of Magic, he doesn't really care that much about it- magic to Star Chart is the means to an end, a tool for him to use in order to pursue his true passion, which is Astronomy. He only puts up with his roles because of his love for his parents, though in the past few years he's grown more and more distant, spending more time alone. Secretly, he wishes he could trade places with his extroverted and cheerful cousin Flurry Heart, who has very few royal responsibilities as her parents want her to enjoy her youth like all of the other ponies. Twilight worries for him, as he reminds her of who she was before she went to Ponyville and met all her friends. She's considering sending him away as well, perhaps to Shining Armor and Cadence in the Crystal Empire, to see if the change of scenery will do him some good like it did for her. Flash struggles to relate to his son, as they don't share many common interests, but like Twilight, he wants the best for him, and will do whatever he can to help his son find his happiness.
