Quiet, studious and extremely wary of others. Hard to trust and unwilling to give more than he gets. Has a mouth when he gets mad, but will more often than not back away when he starts getting into arguments and will walk away before it comes to blows.
History: He was was born to the kizkavi royal family before the destruction of their original world. He was quiet and studious, but never expected to have to be thrust into the position of leadership until it happened. His uncle - King Triton - was a powerful warrior and had seven sons and three daughters. There was no way he would inherit anything. Salaan was content to be overlooked and underestimated. Until he wasn't. War broke out, but the Kizkavi Kingdom was well-protected. Triton trained his warriors and ensured there was a large enough standing army to defend their borders.

A plague swamped through the country, but Triton didn't ask for help from the Bhalluk until it was too late. With two sons left and more than half of his army gone from the sickness, the Kizkavi were decimated. They pulled their borders back, but still did not reach out to others. Triton insisted he was strong enough to protect his people. The Kizkavi were the best warriors of their world and proved it time and time again against the Endarkened Cultists. Walls were built to keep everyone out, but treachery killed his eldest and the second son vanished. Everyone assumed he'd killed his brother, but none could prove it unless he was caught. Triton was devastated, but pulled back further, closing the city itself to everyone.

The king never recovered from the loss of his family and slowly descended into madness. Orders began making less sense and his temper frayed, snapping at those around him for little things. The once patient and powerful king had been reduced to a scared kitten seeing shadows everywhere. When he died, it was almost a relief. Unfortunately, the only available successor was his nephew, the bookworm Salaan, who had remained holed up in the royal library since the beginning of the war and had not even been aware of the loss of half of his cousins, or the sickness that had killed his aunt and parents.

Thrust into the kingship with barely a request, Salaan contemplated leaving, but where would he go? His uncle's generals and counselors remained and began to guide the young 'kavi, giving him a literal crash course in how to rule. Salaan became broody and impulsive, learning more and more of war. He began to systematically throw out everyone not a kizkavi. Even natives of the area weren't exempt. Salaan and his advisors knew there were few kizkavi left and the women must be protected at all costs. He was given a wife but she miscarried the first litter and he ignored her after that. She vanished not too long after, somehow sneaking through the barriers while pregnant with his second litter.

Things turned from bad to worse yet again when the capitol was breached by the Endarkened. Destroying the last of their defenses and leaving the kizkavi without a home. The nation was destroyed and every kizkavi fled to the safety of the other countries, many hoping to find their loved ones who had been abandoned by their king. Salaan vanished into the woods and was not seen for many years.

Soap surfaced in a small city near the Aukoli capitol, a simple trader with few belongings, mostly scrounged from abandoned cities and did what he could to sell to those who needed what he had. He had many scars across his body, though did not have the appearance of a warrior.
