Summary
The child of two Nintendo-loving nerds, Kyurem grew up finding themselves being pushed into interests they didn't have - Even to the point of being named after the third member of the Tao Trio, after whom their parents were named. That's not to say that Kyurem dislikes games; they simply found their interests in the field drifting further from the expectations their family placed on them. But while Reshiram often tries and fails to understand, Zekrom has simply shrugged and decided to keep trying to push her love of Nintendo and Pokémon onto Kyurem - Something they somewhat resent her for. If she won't try to understand what they like, they wish she'd just let them have their separate interests. Though they don't hate their parents by any means, they have a somewhat rocky relationship, and Kyurem ultimately can't see themselves sticking around as they grow up.
Trivia
- Kyurem loathes their name with all their being, not only due to their own disinterest in the Pokémon franchise, but also the expectations it represents being placed on their shoulders. They eventually went on to form a group called The Name Hating Club with the brother of a friend they met online in their childhood.
- Though they don't enjoy the vast majority of Nintendo games, Kyurem does enjoy a small handful of games on the consoles that their parents pushed on them in their childhood - One of their favorites is the Bayonetta franchise, which they own in its entirety on the Switch and would often play as a kid, swapping over to Pokémon Sword to keep up their childish ruse when Zekrom inevitably wandered over to pester them.
