canon backstory

a delusional guy who imagines that he owns a chocolate factory where he is rich and well-liked and nicknamed candyman by citizens, and he gets to enjoy chocolate all the time (his favorite food).
but in reality, he's a poor homeless guy who eats people because he eats a lot and he can't afford more food. he sleeps in an alley near a lot of confectionery stores, that's why his daydreaming consists of a colorful candy world. he retreats into his dreams to escape from the reality of being poor and to entertain himself because he has nothing to do. and because he fantasizes all the time, he tragically spirals into delusion.
he drags people into the alley and snaps their necks, thinking that he's breaking apart a gigantic chocolate bar, and then he consumes them.
he also fantasizes that he has a lively, well-groomed golden retriever in candyland. though in reality, the dog is a stray and has already died from consuming leftover chocolate from the confectionery stores, so all he's keeping is a decomposing corpse. he seems to know that his beloved dog has died, but he refuses to acknowledge the truth.
