Profile

The protagonist of "Lilacs of the Dead Land."

Eliza discovered a mirror that travels between dimensions, a relic left behind by the witches, and travels from modern Earth to the world of Rorrim. Unable to return to Earth, she resigned to a quiet life as a librarian and a scribe at the monastery library in Nixxon, Nacexim. That is, until the town was beseiged by a dragon, and her quiet life ended.

Eliza and Kinslayer, her lover, travel Rorrim in search of the dragons, and also of mirrors to return home, meeting Amoxtyl and many other friends (and enemies) along the way. Kinslayer resigns to the fact that Eliza is indeed trapped in Rorrim forever, until they travel to Tievos, the living-toy kingdom in the snowy far North, where they discover that the Queen was one of the few with a nearly-functioning mirror.

Eliza is fueled by Kinslayer's desires, whatever they may be. She herself us unsure what his motives are for the most part, but will follow him anywhere, despite the threat it poses to herself as a mortal. She is constantly defended by both Kinslayer and Amoxtyl, and resents being coddled by them, until later she becomes a warrioress and is able to fend for herself.

Personality

Eliza as a young adult:
Early on in the story, Eliza is overwhelmed with being stuck in a new world. She is more than willing to adapt to her situation, however, and easily settles at the monastery. She discovers her calling as a librarian, as a translator, and a scribe. She is hungry for information and poetry, and will gladly spend hours in the library translating ancient verses into the modern tongue.

Warrioress Eliza:
Tired of being coddled, it takes a while for others to see her as more than a weak woman. While hesitant to move forward as a fighter, she accepts it as a necessary evil. Later, when only she and Amoxtyl remain, she is forced to abandon all hesitancy when she is attacked by another man without warning. Shocked and traumatized by the event, her main goal becomes selfish, and determined on finding Kinslayer, wherever he may be. She believes he might have died on the siege of Tievos, just before she travelled through the mirror. Her legacy is written in selfishness.
