Overview
Once fully human, Rhea now wanders the lands of Ionia in search for a deeper purpose to life, as well as a new motive after a tragic incident where his life was taken from him. Now sharing the same body with a demon who seeks retribution against the cult that killed him, he travels across Ionia alongside his partner Yone in order to shut it down for good.
Personality
Rhea is normally a calm individual, not saying much in general except to people that she finds interesting. When they do speak, they are often very snarky with their words and tend to poke fun at others, although most of it is in lighthearted jest. Despite his quiet nature, he is known for holding grudges against others, usually the more dire the offense the longer the grudge is held. As a child he was often scolded for this habit of his and his parents kept trying to teach him to be more forgiving of others, though their lessons fell on deaf ears.
However, this personality trait of his was something that in the end attracted the demon he made a pact with. His unforgiving grudges and his burning rage that awakened before he died drew the demon to him and peaked its interest to make a pact with him.
A habit that he never grew out of from his youth, however, was being incredibly blunt with his words in most cases. Oftentimes he can come off as very rude to others although in most cases he doesn't mean to be malicious. They are the type to say things as they see it, and often don't sugarcoat their words at all.
A side of him unknown to strangers is much warmer and welcoming, with those he is close to they are very loyal to. With Yone, he would often worry about him overworking himself or putting too much strain on himself. Even in undeath, he continues to worry about Yone's health and if he's taking care of himself enough, especially with his constant tireless efforts to slay demons. He often finds himself almost acting like a parental figure to him in the relationship telling him to take breaks or trying to take care of him and his wellbeing. Although in this case, he is much less blunt and much kinder to him.
Despite his sense of loyalty to others, Rhea often found himself wondering what to do in her life and felt like they were drifting along in life without a purpose. Due to his parents always comparing him to his older siblings, Rhea has a bit of an inferiority complex and often doesn’t think very highly of themselves. However, after coming back from the dead, Rhea feels more of a sense of purpose when it comes to taking down the cult that killed him, although with Yone back in his life he also feels more grounded with him by their side.
Despite it all, the inferiority complex is still there and is slightly worse than it was before due to his appearance after dying, being in a strange state between life and death and having to hide the monstrous mouth in the back of his head to most.
Appearance
Rhea has very long hair put up in four bunches of pigtails that can magically change lengths, due to the demon that possesses it controlling it. At the end of each pigtail his hair forms into a hand which can pick up objects. Often his hair will float idly in the air due to the demon controlling it, although in public places it rests like any other normal person's hair. With his victims the hair can extend to great lengths to grab them and suck the life out of them through the magic in his hair, before eating the victim with the mouth in the back of his head.
Often Rhea will wear a hood to hide the mouth that is in the back of his head due to the demon in his body. His skin is also incredibly pale, due to his body decomposing when he died as he was left alone for a bit affer being sacrificed and before coming back magically. Like a corpse, he is also cold to the touch. They have red eyes that were formerly brown, which glow in the dark or when they're mad.
Story
BASE VERSE
The youngest of three siblings, Rhea was always looked down as the lesser of their siblings due to their age. Due to their older sibling’s success in life, they were always pressured to be just as successful as them and grew to have a lesser view on herself due to constantly being compared to them. In the village they grew up in, their parents were teachers at the local sword school. While none of their siblings followed in their parent’s footsteps, they were still highly successful running other businesses in the village and were well known. Despite growing up feeling lonely most of the time, Rhea befriended two of his parent’s pupils, Yone and Yasuo.
Most days, Rhea would accompany their parents to work to watch them teach others, as their parents thought it would set a good example especially on manners which they thought he needed to work on. Through this they were able to become closer to Yone and Yauso, although they were particularly close to Yone and the two were often never seen apart from the other. While he wouldn’t often admit it, Yone envied Rhea due to having so many responsibilities put onto him and a set purpose in his life, while Rhea had more opportunity to find a sense of purpose or something to do in life and they wished that he had more freedom like Rhea did. Despite his envy, the two got along very well and Yone was a supportive presence in his life due to always encouraging him and trying to help him feel better about themselves with their sense of inferiority they had about himself.
Rhea would often find themselves finding Yone for support when things went wrong in his life and vice versa, since the two were very close to one another and soon developed a very strong bond of trust. Rhea was always able to find a shoulder to lean on in them. As they got to know each other closer and closer over the years, both parties developed feelings for each other but were both opposed to confessing their true feelings, both fearing they would be rejected.
Eventually as propaganda spread through Ionia with rumors of war coming, Rhea’s’ parents took a different turn in life and followed the things they heard. In an attempt to protect their family and educate themselves further, their family ended up moving to a different village that was far away from Yasuo and Yone, where they were guaranteed protection from whatever dangers would come as long as they followed the religion in the village. However, what they didn’t know is that the village was home to a very infamous cult that had been rooted in Ionia for years, that was disguising its true motives to gain more followers through the propaganda and chaos that ensued through the rumors being spread.Despite moving away from Yone, Rhea continued to stay pen pals with him and the two would often exchange letters and update each other on their lives. Even though they were not able to see each other in person their bond remained strong and Rhea promised that they would try to visit him one day when they were able to. However, Rhea had a duty in the new village as a shrine maiden and was deeply devoted to the cause and blindly believed the lies that the officials were feeding them. This ended up taking most of his time to that duty but despite it all they were able to continue to stay in contact with Yone. As they continued to talk to each other he finally decided to confess his feelings one day and to his surprise, they were reciprocated. However, both parties had no idea how they could be together due to both of them being too loyal to their villages.
Before anything could be resolved between them, the stories they had been told by the village officials finally came true when they heard that the Noxians had come to the shores of Ionia and war had begun. In a desperate attempt to protect themselves, the heads of the village began to announce they had sent their shrine maidens out on a journey as ambassadors to bring together the rest of Ionia. However, in reality, at night they would kidnap them from their homes and sacrifice them in a ritual in secret to the demons they worshiped, hoping the sacrifices would please their gods and save them from the oncoming battles.
Hearing the news that he would be sent out sometime soon, Rhea sent a final letter to Yone, telling them that they would be leaving their village soon and as part of his duty he would visit their old village as an ambassador. Despite being apart so far Rhea wanted to finally tie the knot with Yone since he cared about him too much to be away from them for so long. He figured he could continue to live there as an ambassador after the war passed, as long as both of them survived. Unknownst to Rhea, the letter arrived to Yone and he wrote back, wishing to marry him as well, but he was unable to read his response when he himself was kidnapped by the authority of the village one night and taken to be sacrificed.
Six months laterr after coming back from the dead, Rhea headed to the Spirit Blossom festival to convene with the spirits, although was unable to head to the peak of the mountain in order to do so. Traveling around the outer woods of the town he continued his search to try to find Yasuo, wanting to seek revenge for him murdering Yone, although in those very woods he ended up crossing paths with Yone instead. After the two had an emotional reunion, they decided to travel together across Ionia for their respective tasks, as Rhea continues to try to shut down the other factions of the cult and Yone continues to hunt Azakana.
MUSIC VERSE
Rhea came from a family where he had great expectations put on them, due to being the youngest sibling. Despite this he was always considered smart by his peers, and in his spare time, he began to pick up music as a hobby. He shared this interest with his childhood friend, Yone, who he met through his parents. The two of them were very close and eventually got married out of high school, although they began to drift apart eventually as they both went their separate careers.
The two eventually divorced on Rhea’s terms as distance formed as they tried to go towards their own careers, and Rhea went his separate ways. Eventually, he met Viego one day in a bar crying over his divorced wife, Isolde, and attempted to comfort him.Realizing they were both into music, they got to know each other and later continued to talk over text and one day decided to form a band together, recruiting Samira, Varus and Talon as other members.STAR GUARDIAN
Yone and Rhea were childhood friends, next door neighbors to each other since a young age. However, as they grew up they were both eventually called as Star Guardians by the First Star, and gave up their normal lives to dedicate themselves to protecting the world. Despite their duties, they found romantic feelings in one another and continued their duties as partners, and eventually formed a group with fellow classmates who also became Star Guardians- Zed, Grace and Lillia, who Yone became the leader of.
Rhea gained the familiar Remy, a rat, who bestowed upon them magical power by controlling their hair. Yone and Rhea continued to grow closer as the years passed until one day the two of them had a big falling out, and later a battle between the forces of dark broke out and Yone found himself unable to protect Rhea due to them not wanting to cooperate with them due to their conflict. In this battle, Rhea ended up taking a fatal blow for Yone due to not paying attention to him, and ended up dying in his arms, but not before telling them how much she loved him.After Rhea’s passing, the group found themselves falling apart, and Zed proceeded to go his separate way working as a solo Star Guardian as a vigilante. However, Grace and Lillia still stay with Yone to try to keep him in check. As the years pass, Yone becomes more jaded over the years yet still has to continue to pretend to be a highschooler. Many other Star Guardians, especially the younger ones, make fun of him due to how bad he is at pretending to act younger than he really is.
More years pass, and Zed eventually encounters Rhea, who was revived by Zoe and is forced to fight them in battle due to Zoe pitting her against him. Zoe had twisted Rhea’s mind into believing that their old team was the one that had betrayed them, but most specifically seeking revenge against Yone believing that he had betrayed them and let them die on purpose. Zed’s immediate thought was to fight Rhea, yet eventually they get away and Zed also ends up hearing from other Star Guardians that corrupted Star Guardians can be saved and reunites with his old team to try to figure out a way to save Rhea.SKIN BIOS

Nightbringer- An infamous god worshiped by several cults, Rhea was once a being of good before their vengeance overcame them in the end and the light in their heart was extinguished. In their rage, they seek the destruction of the world to end all of those who wronged them. Yet their lover left behind, Yone, seeks to return the goodness in their heart against all odds.
Battle Academia- A top student in the Assassin club, Rhea’s sass and attitude only slightly overshadows his exceptional grades. Despite his academic performance, many students have learned the hard way to not get on his bad side, due to his remarkable ability to hold grudges. His outspoken nature only lightens up around his childhood friend, Yone, who fiercely denies having a soft side for them.
Randuin's Omen- Having put aside his past life to start a new career, Rhea specializes in the production for Randuin's Omen, with chart toppers and heavy instrumentals rivaling even Pentakill. With their newfound fame, Rhea finds themselves swarmed by the limelight. However, in the music industry, Rhea also finds himself coming closer to an old face, despite his best efforts to avoid them…
Star Guardian- Once a member of a team founded ages ago, Rhea was fated to fall in battle while their lover, Yone, continued to live on for decades without them by his side. As the years passed, as Zoe rose to power Rhea was revived yet their mind was warped by her and they were led to believe that Yone was the one who killed them, as they seek vengeance against him and the other Star Guardians.

Yone and Yasuo were originally family friends of Rhea's parents, due to them being pupils at the school where his parents taught. Initially, the two did not know each other very well although Rhea would often accompany their parents to their work to help oversee the students. However, one day the two of them began to talk and found that they had more in common than they thought, and Rhea began to become friends with both Yone and Yasuo, yet was quite significantly closer with Yone.
The two would often spend time with one another in their youth and were practically glued together at the hip, and each found a safe space for the other to confide in. Yone would often find himself envious of Rhea's lack of responsibility being the youngest sibling of his family, while Yone was the oldest and had to uphold his duty to look after his brother and his family. However, despite this they continued to stay close and would often offer advice to one another.
The two began to develop a very strong bond of trust with each other and as the years passed feelings began to develop towards one another on both sides, yet neither were too anxious to do anything about their feelings. As they continued to be friends, Rhea eventually found himself moving to another village that was quite far from their home village where Yone lived. Despite this the two of them began to stay in touch as pen pals and eventually confessed feelings towards one another yet fate teared both of them apart before anything could happen between them.
After they met in unlife, Rhea and Yone continue to be close with one another, despite their physical differences from being brought back from the other side they still trust and love one another. After meeting Yone again one fateful day, Rhea and Yone continue to travel together as partners. Rhea often finds himself worrying over Yone's wellbeing as well as telling him he's overworking himself and not resting, a trait he had held even when he was alive.
Yone often expresses his disapproval of Rhea's pact with a demon. However, while both are not officially married due to their physical appearances scaring most, they consider themselves married.
YASUO . brother-in-law
While Rhea and Yone were close, Rhea was also good friends with Yasuo as they grew up. Rhea would often find himself breaking apart conflicts between Yone and Yasuo, and was often the mediator between the two due to their constant conflicts due to their differences. Yasuo, in his youth, looked up to Rhea as almost another older sibling due to how close he was with Yone. He would always joke about wanting Rhea as a sibling instead of Yone (to Yone's dismay.)
Rhea and Yasuo also would stay in touch when Rhea moved away, although he mostly heard about how he was doing through his letters with Yone. However, their relationship became strained when Rhea heard that Yone had died at Yasuo's hands, wondering what had happened between them and also seeking vengeance against Yasuo due to him killing his lover.
However, Rhea ended up running into Yone first before he ran into Yasuo on his quest for revenge and the two worked things out between their strained relationship, although Rhea still dislikes and doesn't trust Yasuo due to what he did.
Trivia
Yone and Rhea met again post mortem after an Azakana hunting Rhea due to his grief and heartbreak attacked him, only to find himself saved by the man who he thought had died. When both met they had the fear that the other wouldn’t love them anymore due to their current physical states. However, Rhea quickly is able to come to terms with Yone’s physical state due to being able to quickly move past what he looks like and is now and realizing he’s still the same man he knows and loves.
On the contrary, Yone is incredibly insecure and scared over his own appearance as well as what they think Rhea thinks of him. Due to him mostly being incredibly hard on themselves, Yone isn’t convinced until Rhea verbally tells him that they still love him despite his physical state and appearance. Hearing that Rhea still wants him shocks him due to how he already struggles to accept themselves as they are now, so the fact that Rhea would still love him when he hasn’t even come to terms with their appearance themselves touches them.
Yone had harbored feelings for Rhea for a while, with both of them mutually pining over each other. Neither were able to confess their feelings in person. When Rhea finally confessed through a letter, he was unable to respond to Yone’s response, where Yone had agreed to be wed since Rhea was kidnapped and sacrificed.
Rhea’s heartbreak and grief began when he heard that Yone had died. As soon as he came back to the world of the living, one of the first things he did was to visit Yone in their old village. However, upon arriving he only heard word of his death and fell into a depression.
Yone had also assumed Rhea had died in the war, likely due to an invasion of their village, when he didn’t get a response from him in a long time.
Yone would often visit Rhea in their youth, due to Rhea being a sickly child Yone would sneak into their room at night and talk to them and keep them company.
The demon that Rhea made a pact with continues to inhabit his body mostly coexisting with him, although Rhea continues to carry on shutting down the cult to please the demon. However, if he were to stop one day for any reason the demon would attempt to take over the rest of his body to do as it pleases with it.
MUSIC AU
When Yone and Rhea were kids Yone gave Rhea an affectionate nickname in Japanese, and Rhea would constantly ask what it meant. Eventually, Yone gave in and ended up teaching him the language.
Yone and Rhea had feelings for each other at a very young age, around 8 years old, and confessed to each other but were told they were too young to be dating. Rhea is distraught over this and starts crying and throwing a fit, and to calm him down Yone makes a promise to him that he’ll marry them when they’re both adults. However, they end up keeping this promise when they both graduate highschool and shortly get married after that.
