WIPWIPWIP dumping information here for now.

One of the last iterators made by the Ancients. Unfinished and doomed to float aimlessly through space, Clouds and Beyond finds themselves being practically eaten alive by ruthless loneliness. As a solution to their neverending isolation, they engineer themselves the perfect friend.

"The space iterator responsible for creating The Starbound. Their superstructure is an incomplete model that has posed victim to numerous meteorite strikes. While the state of their superstructure isn't in critical condition, the damage they've suffered through has lead to parts of themselves being dislodged and left to float through the absence of space. Their sole communication tower is one of these parts. Being a space iterator, designed to do research on the nature of the sun in hopes it's the answer they've all been looking for, Clouds and Beyond was in no possible position to serve as a home for Ancients. Their puppet was in almost all ways useless as the trek to even communicate with Clouds and Beyond was an arduous task and involved climbing an enormous tower that pierced the skies. Being so disconnected from their creators, and now with the loss of their communication tower, their fellow iterators as well. This lead to Clouds and Beyond developing an overwhelming loneliness that plagued every thought. On the verge of hysteria, they began their search for a remedy to this problem. Attempting to repair their structure was useless, so Clouds and Beyond began to bioengineer an organism. Their knowledge on the lifeforms below was minimal, as their design was meant to focus on the sun and only the sun, so information on creatures was sparse. Regardless, in the time their communication tower was functional and connected, they overheard fellow iterators discussing slugcats and their impressive usefulness as messengers. With only a few comments to describe their appearance, Clouds and Beyond began to construct a slugcat from the only resource available to them- neuron fly tissue. And thus, the Starbound was born. They were designed to be the ultimate immortal friend. Being made of neuron fly tissue, the Starbound is unable to age accurately, forever stuck as a slugpup. Unless harmed and consumed, the Cycle would never be able to dig their fiendish claws into Starbound to rip them away from Clouds and Beyond. After cycles upon cycles of loneliness, having Starbound by their side was practically heaven. Who knew that slugcats could be this interesting? They bonded and were practically inseparable. It'd take a force that could shake the world to separate the two. ... which was exactly what happened. The Starbound made the mistake of wandering, and after one particularly devastating meteorite strike, sent the poor slugcat flying, lost to the world below."
