OOOOO MAYBEEEEE GRASS HOPPER! grass hppef grass hopper grads hoppy grass hopper
OOH MY GOSH A BORROWER MOUSE??? I was just thinking “haha it lowkey reminds me of the Borrowers” then about dropped dead. I grew up with the books and then got psyched by the Ghibli film! Gonna bold these for navigation purposes with how they’re formatted.
Let’s see - how about Norton? The books were initially written by Mary Norton, which is what the film is based off of. Other ideas for ones which could be of interest could be Heckle, Pilfer, or Thimble.
Traditionally from the books, the families were also surnamed after the location they were in (ex: in Arrietty’s case, her family were the Clocks due to their adjacency to the grandfather clock). Something like Drawer, Sock, or Haven could be potential ideas based along that?
Basing on cannon characters alone, they definitely remind me a bit of Spiller. And for some general name ideas related to objects, maybe Clothespin, Patch, Patchouli, or Herb.
I hope some of those are helpful!
