Aurel is smug, arrogant, and never takes anything seriously. Coming from a past of wealth, Aurel clearly never faced consequences and always got what he wanted. He was never really able to shake that mindset, even now, despite having nothing left from back then. He’s chaotic and a loose cannon, disliking authority and breaking rules when he sees fit. To most people Aurel is ruthless, cold, and sadistic. He clearly enjoys his job, despite seemingly having a disdain towards his employers. Regardless of his personal qualms with them, he has remained fairly loyal for years. They pay well and offer enough safety that it’s worth enduring annoyances. He also seems to have quite a few personal connections within the group, making them more lenient when it comes to his behavior.
