Fane was swapped into an Elvish family at birth. Due to her family's lack of knowledge on Changelings, she would grow up thinking she was a special kind of elf, giving herself elvish features like pointed ears. He struggled during his childhood, both in getting attention from its family and in school. Wanting to leave her life behind, she changed her name to Fane Star and left home to become a musician. She landed a job at the Sapling Theatre Hall, doing a two-person act with her partner, Santina. Though, this relationship and job end quickly, and Fane ends up in prison, where she takes the offer to help the king retrieve his kidnapped daughter.

Fane loves the attention she gets from performing. While she's not the most intelligent or wise, she makes up for it by her ability to charm others. She has trouble committing to formal relationships with others and tends to be unreliable. She has a bad habit of talking about others behind their backs. She's able to play the guitar, harp, piano, and lute, as well as being skilled with swords and simple weapons.
