History: Aluino is Brio's half brother and the reason for Brio's parents' divorce. Brio's father kept his second family a secret for a while but the truth surfaced, as it always does, and he finally left Paldea to live with his new family in his hometown in Hoenn. Angel's father was furious with Brio's father for his abandonment of his first son and as a result, he decided to disown him. This decision kept Aluino from bonding with Angel and forming a connection with his father's side of the family. For this reason, Aluino grew bitter with Angel, as he felt that he was being shunned and looked down on by him and his family. Despite the conflict between the two families, Aluino grew up in fairly decent home. His mother and father deeply cared for each other and him, with his father being especially supportive of Aluino's interest in machines and science. Growing up, Aluino would hang around the nerdier kids and develop a friendship with Tabitha. The two would often discuss their scientific interests and enable one another with their ideas for inventions and advancements for the betterment of mankind. Wattson, the electric type gym leader of Hoenn, took notice of one of Aluino's submissions for a science fair and was interested in the young man's mind and capability. He took him on as an apprentice, and Aluino's technical skills improved greatly. Although Wattson was very impressed with his development, Aluino still felt he had room for both improvement and further education. Wattson thought about what they could do and he decided to get in touch with other inventors and scientists that would gladly meet with Aluino and share their knowledge with him. At the age of 22, Aluino would set out to journey around the world to meet these minds. 6 years later during his travels, he came across a concert poster in Alola for a man that had a slight resemblance to him. He later called his father asking about this, "Brio" guy, and his old man came clean about the whole situation and why his brother didn't want anything to do with him anymore. The news both devastated and intrigued Aluino. He decided he would visit Paldea at some point in order to meet his half-brother and attempt to connect and bond with him. He currently lives in a small rental home and is struggling to connect with Brio, but hasn't given up hope yet. He occasionally takes jobs fixing broken appliances and machines, sometimes even fixing stuff at the academy.

Personality: Aluino was rather shy as a child, but had a temper and would bear grudges easily. Anytime something bad happened to him, he would remember that. (ex: got sick after eating a burger and hated the restaurant for years after) Forming a friendship with Tabitha helped him to gain some more confidence and he began to talk more as a result. He has little to no interest in pokemon and would rather work towards inventing things that would help the betterment of humanity. He doesn't hate pokemon, but he just doesn't really think much about the creatures. It frustrates him to a degree that a lot of inventors and scientists' research is heavily based around pokemon and the relationships between humans and pokemon and not much else. His social skills developed further upon his travels and he grew to identify with punk culture and music. Even though Galar wasn't on his list of regions to visit, he made an excuse to see Macro Cosmos's developments in order to actually visit Spikemuth and maybe get a chance to meet Piers in person. Aluino is...an oddball, to say the least. It's definitely a trait he gets from his father, as Brio can also be a huge oddball. In Aluino's case, he has a tendency to have a very dry sense of humor and speaks his mind without much of a filter, something that can sometimes get him in trouble. Not being able to really bond with his father's side of the family has taken a toll on Aluino, even if he tries to hide it behind anger. He really values connection and tries his best to get along with people, even if he isn't always successful. He really does want to make a good impression with Brio and bond with his older half-sibling, and even if he refuses to admit it, he also wants to connect with his cousins, Angel and Cole. Although Aluino's stuttering may make him look like a pushover, he takes 0 crap from people and will defend himself by any means necessary when he feels like someone wants to cause him any trouble. I can't say that he's the type that looks scary but is actually gentle, because he...isn't...but he isn't an outright jerk, either. As made evident by his research and inventions, Aluino cares about others and wants people to live better and easier lives. When a Tinkatink imprints on him, Aluino begins to see that pokemon do have a place in the betterment of humans' lives, though he would still rather not get too attached to them. A trait he shares with his father is immense jealousy when it comes to people he likes romantically. This is something Brio also deals with, and each person deals with this in their own way. Aluino deals with jealousy by becoming very silent and amping up how intimidating he looks by visibly gritting his teeth. He will be very curt with the people he is jealous of, but be his usual self with the person he likes.

Relationships: (This will be a WIP as I figure out more characters for Aluino to interact with and such!)

Brio: Because he grew up in a household very different from his own, Brio has a difficult time being comfortable around Aluino at first. It stings when Brio tells Aluino upfront that he just can't talk to him right now, but Aluino understands and gives his half-sibling the space he needs before they can properly bond. Once Brio is more comfortable, the two get along well and Brio becomes protective of his little half-brother. Aluino constantly tells him to ease off with alla that but Brio cannot help himself when it comes to family! He wants to be sure that his brother is doing okay. Brio is very supportive of Aluino's efforts to create inventions that will better the life of others and invests greatly into his brother's research and work, something that Aluino greatly appreciates.

Wattson: Ah yes, the man that helped Aluino move forward with his ideas! Wattson has always been impressed and proud of Aluino for his creations and wanted him to take over the electric type gym for him at some point. But upon realizing the young man had no interest in pokemon and even less in training them, he gave up on that goal and decided to just stick to teaching Aluino everything he needs when it comes to machines and inventing. Okay, well, saying he gave up on the goal isn't exactly right. Wattson holds onto some hope that Aluino will change his mind about pokemon during his travels and maybe, juuust maybe, consider taking over the gym! No luck so far.

Tabitha: The two met in elementary school in the 3rd grade and became fast friends. Their shared love of science and the betterment of mankind had these two stuck like glue, even when their tempers would flare up, they'd make up soon after any argument and continue to hype each other up over their ideas. The two keep in touch via pory and rotom phones. Aluino tends to tease Tabitha playfully over his silly magma uniform, but he also expressed concerns over his leader Maxie. Tabitha didn't really take Aluino's warnings to heart much, up until the Groudon incident. Aluino did one hell of an "I told you so" dance the next day when Tabitha told him about what happened. He was initially angry that Tabitha complied with Maxie's horrible idea, but he got over it after seeing how remorseful Tabitha was. He knows his best friend would never willingly put people in danger so he let it go gradually.

Maxie: Thinks he's a freak. Aluino does not like him for being so reckless and especially because he put his parents' lives in danger along with the rest of the residents of Hoenn. Even if he just wanted to find a way to make things better, Aluino would beat the tar out of him for not thinking more clearly and conducting proper research into just what could happen with the release of Groudon.

Piers: He's a big fan of Piers and gave Wattson the excuse that his trip to Galar was to interview Chairman Rose about Macro Cosmos's technological developments. He never interviewed the guy and made a b-line straight to Spikemuth with the hopes that he could meet Piers and get an autograph or something. Needless to say he left Galar happy with a signed copy of his favorite album by him.

Parents: Aluino has a good relationship with his parents. His father and mother were both incredibly supportive of his love of science and invention and kind of spoiled him at times. Kind of a miracle that Aluino isn't a huge brat... He was conflicted upon learning of his father's previous family and the affair between him and his mother, but he decided that those were his father's demons to tackle and that he would try his best to get along with his half-brother and eventually the cousins he held a grudge against.

Molayne: Another bestie of Aluino's, Molayne was one of the people Wattson encouraged Aluino to meet in order to further his knowledge on inventions. Molayne and Aluino get along exceptionally well and share a few oddball interests.

Sophocles: Although Aluino was surprised to see how young he was, he valued a lot of Sophocles' input. He supports the little guy in his endeavors and always asks Molayne what he's up to when the two call one another on occasion. Usually Sophocles will butt into the conversation to respond.

Clemont: Similar to Sophocles, Aluino is shocked by his young age, but values a lot of Clemont's input and findings and encourages him often. Aluino does his best to console Clemont when his inventions don't go as he planned, and has tried to also help the lad with his confidence. Since Aluino keeps himself fit he also tried to help Clemont with getting better at running to minimal results...Maybe it would be best if he could complete that machine that will help him run better.

Angel: For the longest time, Aluino held a grudge against his cousin for what he thought was Angel avoiding him. After his father told him about Brio and the family he left behind, Aluino grew to understand why maybe Angel stayed away (though it was Angel's dad that didn't want anything to do with Aluino's father or his family) and upon finding out that Angel and Cole lived in Paldea like Brio, he thought more and more about trying to finally connect with him. It was hard though, since Aluino had such negative emotions towards Angel all these years. Even though he logically understood what was going on, a part of him was still very upset about the way things were with their families, which has caused him to act intimidatingly towards Angel. In due time Aluino would be able to let go of those emotions and properly get along with Angel.

Cole: These two bicker a lot initially. With Cole's tendency to be cold and distant with new people and Aluino's grudge against their family, things were just not pretty. It didn't help that Cole had such a fondness and deep connection with pokemon and Aluino didn't understand any of it. He would make some back handed comments that would upset Cole and, well, it took waaay longer for these two to get along than with Angel. I can't say I'd imagine that they'd be super close once they do start to get along, but Aluino would definitely try to be on Cole's good side. He can't help but be jealous sometimes over how close Cole is to Brio, though!

Tink: Aluino's one and only pokemon, Tink imprinted on the weirdo while Aluino was moping on a park bench over his failed attempt at connecting with his older half-brother. The pokemon tried to steal some of the tools on Aluino's belt, to which Aluino noticed and had a tug of war with the small Tinkatink for his property. The Tinkatink found amusement and thought that he was playing with it when really he just wanted his stuff back. As a result, it became attached to him and began following him. Aluino tried many times to lose her, but Tink always found him again and he was forced to take her in after it began to rain and she was just standing outside his door looking pathetic and sad. As time went on, Aluino grew to really care for Tink and she became his little assistant. Though she's a horrible assistant...always trying to steal parts. She eventually grows into a Tinkaton and clings around Aluino, being very protective of her "papa."

Emmet and Ingo: Yet another group of besties of his, Aluino met them while he was passing by Unova. Train fans, enough said.
