Keilani was a skilled surfer from her youth, so much so that it caught the attention of spirits and gods. One in particular, the primordial Irish sea god, Lir, sought to court her. Like many women before and after her, her career was sidelined due to a decision of her youth, and the son that came as a result. Demigod child or no, motherhood has never fully defined her.She's stubborn, proud, and unafraid to speak her mind. But she would be hard pressed to not admit it changed her life going forward.
Keilani struggled raising Hal, even prior to him realizing his true nature as a demigod. She loved him, and she feared losing him. Had it not been his own choice, she would have fought the Otherworld king himself to keep him here. She's happy he came home, and proud to see him pursue his life now as a hero. She hardly even needs to work now, with him supporting her, but still prefers to. Hard to say when she'll retire.
Powers
Keilani has no powers, but from her union with Lir, the sea, she has gained the favor of a handful of gods and spirits. She refuses their help, but she's also just not truly ever needed it, far as she's concerned.

Hal Son
That's her baby boy, her world. She knows he doesn't need her protection much anymore, and if anything it'd likely be the other way around. But she would lay down life and limb for him, because that's what a mother does for her child.
