it didn't seem to bother Kassai, as he used to feed him sometimes too.
One day Ikii gets in trouble with a pack of wolves which later ends into a fight.
Ikii being in disadvantage, gets terribly hurt runs away.
Once away, he loses all his strengths and falls to the ground, being unable to move, and minutes later passes away, it could not resist the attack and the deep wounds...
By chance, Kassai was around that place, and finds Ikii in his poor condition, until it realizes he wasn't alive anymore.
He couldn't help about feeling bad, and takes Ikii's soul for later replace it into an origami fox.
Ikii wakes up once more, and Kassai asks him if he'd like to live with him, and Ikii gets decided to protect him from now on as Kassai's familiar.
