in my universe, all titan shifters are granted a pair of wings once they inherit their respective titan. these wings help them excessively when they leave their titan forms, let it be from getting back to the ground or for combat.
because he has inherited the founding titan, eren's wings are much larger than that of regular shifters. he has the largest wingspan out of all the shifters. such a fact fascinated hanji and his wings have been the subject of many experiments that hanji has conducted.
from creating large wind gusts to stun titans momentarily to aerial acrobatics, eren uses his wings to the best of his ability in order to make sure that all titans are exterminated. they pack a heavy punch and the three layers of differently colored feathers are meant to represent the three walls.
when eren's own friend, armin, gains his wings, eren helps armin learn how to fly with the help of hanji and levi, teaching his best friend all that he has learned through his years of having his own pair of wings. it takes a lot of patience and energy, but eventually, armin has refined his skillset and has become one of the most.
eren flies around a lot with his best friend and when they were younger, eren would use his wings to help intimdate armin's bullies. or, at least thats what he thinks, he hasn't quite figured out yet that they were actually more afraid of mikasa's mere presence beside him than his wings.
when eren fights armin to push him away, he arims mainly for armin's wings instead of the head and abdomen--and instead of ending the fight with a knee to the stomach, he drastically injures his wings, rendering them useless until they healed.
when it comes to the discusssion that eren and armin had toward the end of the road, their conversation plays out the same, except for one phrase.
