The Basics

🌿 Occupation: She did many things to help out around her village(s) such as scout and forage, but much of her time was her own. At Boomerang Village, she's mostly a mother, but still helps forage and such
🌿 Personality: Hopeless romantic, scatter brained, stressed, rash, regretful
🌿 Physical Description: A little short for her species
🌿 History: Asilah grew up in a Watyr-tread village where she met her husband, Shafi, when they were about sixteen (2107). They grew to adulthood together, growing closer with age, and got married when Asilah was nineteen (2110). Eager to have children, as was an expectation in the village, she quickly got pregnant. Expectations were sky-high, as both members of the couple were absolutely delighted for their first bundle of joy. It all went sour July 14, 2111. Jahmir was born, but not as a Watyr-tread Beholder. He suffered a random mutation that made him a Conflict - a species marked for death amongst Beholders. The couple was horrified and Shafi went into a crisis. He ended up tearing the wedding band out of his ear and leaving Asilah, fleeing the village he had grown up in. Asilah, brokenhearted, swore to herself that she would protect her baby and give him the love he deserved. In order to do this, she became a social outcast in the village, withdrawing into her home in order to keep her son a secret. Despite incredible depression and angst, she kept him hidden well enough for some time

A few days after Jahmir turned three years old (2114), Asilah was approached by an old friend who, in a soothing voice, informed Asilah that she knew what was going on and asked her kindly to give up her baby. Horrified that she'd been found out, Asilah scooped up her son and made to flee the village with nothing but the clothes on their backs. The village, however, had anticipated such a reaction. They planned several ambushes around anticipated escape routes and she ran right into one of them. They took Jahmir from her and put him in the Storage Rooms - a cold, stony prison where Conflicts would be taken to be tortured and, eventually, killed. Horrified, Asilah returned to the village, knowing her son was somewhere beneath her feet. She hoped and prayed that she'd be able to rescue her baby, but the village kept her under incredibly close watch to ensure she'd try no such thing. For two long years, she was left to wonder if Jahmir was even still alive down there.

In 2116, word of her child finally reached another of her old friends, Marina, who lived in a distant city. Delighted that her childhood friend had had a baby, Marina made plans to visit right away. However, when she arrived, she found only cold and curt denial that such a baby existed. Marina immediately grew suspicious and conducted her own investigation which led to her rescuing Jahmir from the Storage Rooms as soon as she was able to gain access and find him. Marina wanted to let Asilah know her son was alive and recovering, but knew that such an interaction wouldn't go unnoticed in the village. And so, Asilah was left to assume her baby boy had perished in neglect.

Broken and lonely, Asilah had a moment of weakness in 2118. She ran off to the city where Marina lived and got as drunk as she could. She just wanted a moment of peace, but ended up having a one night stand with the charming Ali. She awoke the next day, horrified with herself. She tried to cling to Ali, half-believing that she could start a new life here and fall in love with him. Ali allowed her to stay for much longer than he normally would his clients, but did not want her to stay. After a couple months, he finally got up the guts to tell her to get out. Dejected, she returned to her home village where the horror really started to set in. Ali was a Fyre-tread Beholder. Their child would be a hybrid between their species, considered just as disgusting as a Conflict would be. She was going to be in the same situation she was with Jahmir. Bracing herself, she swore to herself for a second time that no one would take her baby away from her. Not this time.

When Nasser was born in November, she loved him intensely. She didn't tell him about Jahmir, as she feared it would only make him live his life in terror. To her delight, Nasser was very good at keeping himself hidden and seemed to be living a good life contained within the home. The two of them became close as close could be, forging a bond that twisted up tight. However, it could only last for so long. By the time he was six (2125), the village made the sudden discovery of his existence. Faster this time, Asilah snatched up her son and ran with him to the nearby Hidden Biome - a place where Conflicts and hybrids could be trapped due to the invisible border that surrounded. It would suffocate them if they tried to leave. It wasn't the best place for him doubtless, but it was a location they could run to within one night. And one thing they were short on was time. She knew that within the hidden biome, Beholders would expect Conflicts and hybrids. While, on one hand, this would put him in danger of hunting parties, it would also keep him safe. He was expected to be there. He wouldn't necessarily be killed on sight. He'd be able to run and hide in the thick jungle of the Hidden Biome.

After quickly dumping her son into the jungle, she returned to face the angry village. They nearly sterilized her as punishment for having two 'abominations', but she was narrowly decided to be spared in a village-wide trial. The price she had to pay was instead being watched for the rest of her life. This made it incredibly difficult for her to visit Nasser, but she still managed to sneak off every blue moon. She was unaware that Jahmir was watching from the same jungle, wondering why his mother didn't come to visit him. Despite being incredibly careful, Asilah was eventually discovered on her visits to the Hidden Biome in 2128. The village didn't know what she was doing there, but thought she might be trying to do some traitor-ly things and banned her from ever going that direction again. The posted guards at her house and at the biome. She was never able to return.

And then, it was finally enough. Asilah ran away from her childhood home in 2129, seeking peace, comfort, company, anything. She ran and ran until she found a new Watyr-tread Beholder village where they had no idea what she'd done. She made to begin life anew when she found an old ghost - her husband Shafi had found the same village years ago and done the same thing. She was horrified and immediately made to run off again, but Shafi did something unexpected - he apologized. He knew what he had done was wrong and horrible and he wanted to come back if she could ever forgive him. Asilah was blown away, having never expected something like this from her estranged husband. She accepted him right away, tearfully delighted that someone from her past would even consider picking up this broken mother and loving her again. Shafi got a new wedding band in his opposing ear and the two of them began work on rebuilding their relationship

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics
