Initially Sabin found Matt unbearably annoying and resented being forced to work with him.  He eventually grew to tolerate him and somehow (perhaps due to Matt's unstoppable friendliness) the two actually became quite close.  They still bicker constantly, and Sabin finds himself messing with him often mostly just because he loves how easy he is to provoke.

Despite the large age gap between the two Sabin and Lisette are quite close.  She's the only family member that he holds any real affection for and he's very protective of her, doting on her constantly.  He's not very good at showing his affection beyond buying her gifts constantly, but he cares for her a great deal and tries his best to be a good brother to her.
