Lay'Rin was a military officer of Lucinthos. However, that changed after King Shar was assassinated. Once his husband, King Inodra, took over, the kingdom took a turn for the worse. He implemented unjust laws, and had anybody who spoke against him murdered. She didn't leave at first, because she feared him. But once she heard whispers of a rebellion, she went to join them.
