Monica first started off as an outcast of being a shy nerdy schoolgirl until she discovered her passion for writing. Being inspired from romance and drama tv shows she taken into account the desires and ideas of each character on screen and came to write her own on sheets of paper. She slowly came out of her shell and started becoming more of a different girl, inspired to be more "realistic" as she proclaims from her experiences of watching those characters on television. Monica is snarky and selfish of her own desires after she went through this phase. She was also partially the reason her parents divorced as her mother wanted her to go through this phase, but her father worried that she would bring bad attention to herself and others.

When Monica was a shy school girl she was a bit hesitant to show off her body, but now thrives in it as she avoids wearing shoes and wears short midriff cut shirts and tanktops revealing her belly. The only thing she didn't change was her hairstyle and glasses because even though she likes to do her own thing, she loved the hairstyle her mother gave her when she was 12. 

She got attention for her looks and new personality, though most saw her as rude and attention seeking. The only people she attracted were some boys who didn't know better unlike other girls who thought she was all that. Monica refuses each boy she comes across as not only did she grew to love her body revealed despite being a few pounds, she was attracted to other females who dress like her. One of which was a transfer student named Alisa the Rabbit Cat.

Monica believes she had the hots for Alisa upon sight and always tries to push herself onto the other girl. Alisa however is straight and always politely turns Monica down despite her being so persistent.
