Everest

Everest was born into a pride far from the Snowfall Mountains, to a pride that was qutie harsh and ruthless, though she doesn't remember much of her birth pride. As when she was 3 months old her leg got caught in a Upwalker trap and was heavily injured, as a result her pride left her behind. Beleiving that she would only slow them down, the young lioness would have died had it not been for some kind Upwalkers taking her in and nursing her back to health.

During her time with the Upwalkers Everest gained her name as well as a respect for the creatures, she didn't love them, but she did respect the ones whom she grew to know as her saviors. Once released back into the her old pride's territory with her injury all healed up Everest made an attempt to reconnect with them but they chased her away. Stating that they don't want to affiliate with a lion who has been around Upwalkers, so Everest set out on her own. Though it wasn't long until she met her now mate, Shorty, both lionesses became quick friends.

Their deep friendship eventually grew into romantic feelings for each other and so after that they confessed and became mates, it wasn't long until Everest was expecting her and Shorty's first litter. Due to them starting a family the two Travellers had decided that it was time to put down roots and find a permanent home, they found this home in an untouched land that was dominated by snowy rocky mountains. Everest loved every bit of the territory, the mountains provided many caves and hiding places if she ever needed to hide her cubs, and also game was plentyful since there were no rival lions. Shortly after settling into their home, the two lionesses met another pair of lions who were looking for sanctuary as they too were expecting. Everest believing in them having no ill will agreed along with Shorty to let the couple stay, the pair of lions consisted of a male named Vigilant and his mate a female named Okra.

The two pairs of lions depended on each other in more ways than one, hunting, protection, as well as lookout/sentry work. In the beginning it was Vigilant and Shorty who took the brunt of the work due to their mates being further along in their pregnancy and needing the extra rest. During this time Everest grew close to both Vigilant and Okra, thankful for the new faces as well as the refreshing feeling of interacting with decent beings. While traveling Everest and Shorty of course ran into prides who had a distaste for Travellers, so they tended to keep their distance from most if any lions they came acrossed. Eventually the decision to become a pride was made and Everest was voted King by the other three lions, mainly for her wisdom and observant mindset. And with this decision Viligant decided to rename himself to Summit in honor of Everest making him her Knight as well as showing his loyalty to her. Shortly after that she became a mother to her first litter of cubs, Avalanche, Hail, and Sleet.
