Valeria Dragonsong

Hailing from the slums of Ishgard, Valeria is an orphan as a result of her parents passing from the dragonsong war. Her parents were supporters of the peace between ishgardians and the dragons but the holy knights of ishgard took it upon themselves to “quietly” assassinate those who opposed the idea of segregating the two races.

Growing up, Valeria developed a deep-seated resentment towards Thordan and the revered Great Azure Dragoon, who were hailed as "heroes" of the Dragonsong War. In her quest to change the political regime and bring about a more inclusive Ishgard, she aspired to become a Dragoon Knight.

Before reaching her goals, this meant she had to start as a simple adventurer, til her journey as a warrior of light came into play and clashed into her goals to change ishgard for the better.

Valeria traveled to Uldah for a simple trade to help in her endeavors but everything that basically happened to every warrior of light plays out (meeting the sultana, thancred etc, becoming a scion, meeting the ascians).

All of this was a distraction to her plans, she almost curses Hydaelyn for putting this burden on her but seeing as Eorzea was in far more danger than Ishgard, she had to priortise the bigger picture.

From her journey from ARR to HW, she meets Estinien, a heartless dragon killer who wears the name of the azure dragoon like a badge, which brough back her resentment she set aside years ago. But after a long and arduous journey, of meeting Lady Ysayle, Ser Aymeric, Lord Hauchefaunt, and the rest she realises her quest for revenge is no longer needed as Ishgard was heading off to a brighter future. Until the day Hauchefaunt was killed, she snapped and set forth to destroy Thordan.

In the course of these events, she encounters "Fray," a manifestation of voidsent energy born from the deep well of Valeria's own trauma and hatred. Fray remains by her side, accompanying her journey from the events of Heavensward throughout the rest of her life. Functioning as a kind of devil's advocate, Fray endeavors to push her towards a darker path. Surprisingly, however, the mere presence of Fray prompts her to discern the correct decisions and choices in every situation, ultimately serving as an unexpected guide to the right path.

After learning the truth about the dragonsong war, she falls into a deep depression, with no time to recover because of the high demand of world ending issues that occur in Eorzea, she has to carry on the burden as the Warrior of Light. (to be continued)
