About

Odi is my sona, despite this, she has her own story and takes part in my project ‘Churchyard’. Her story is not finished yet, but I supplement it with the course of my life.

ATTENTION: Odi doesn’t belong to a closed species, but I ask you not to copy her external features

Backstory

[all events take place in the afterlife]

Odi died in in infancy, but her failures did’t end there. Having been reborn in the churchyard, she was picked up by members of the cult who hunted for dead children to make them puppets for physical labor.

Odi has been living in a cult for 13 years, not knowing either physical or mental pain. She is taught simple sciences for further work. But everything changes when Lawrence appears in her life. He was inadvertently picked up by cultists, because at that time he was already 15 years old and he knew how the real world works. By chance, he meets Odi and tells her that there is delicious food, cities, people and life, which she is actually deprived of. The girl really liked to learn about what was happening outside the gates of the orphanage, she asks Lawrence more and more questions, but one day everything starts to collapse.

It takes about a year since the appearance of Lawrence, it was decided to have a picnic in the forest, which was located on the territory of the shelter. At night, when everyone was asleep, the couple got out of the building and went into the forest. Everything was fine, the food stolen from the dining room seemed tastier than usual, and Odi sees the night sky in all its glory for the first time. Later, dancing around the fire begins, the children circle around him, but Lawrence begins to tickle Odi, she accidentally pushes him and the boy falls into the fire, his fur is instantly set on fire and he dies in screams and agony. The girl watches this in frustration. Odi has never experienced fear, but having felt it for the first time, she fell into a stupor.

To the heart-rending screams of Lawrence, the managers of the shelter come running and accuse Odi of what happened. Now she is sentenced to the highest punishment - prolonged physical pain. Within three days, three dots are burned on her wrist, and after being tortured, they are sent to the punishment cell. On the fourth day, a disease forms in her that will torment her for the rest of her life. It parasitizes the mental component and paints all the organs, up to the eyes, black, as if 'sucking' the colors from the soul. Occultists, noticing the "marriage" in the product, decide to dispose of the Odi until the disease has completely absorbed it. Remembering Lawrence and his instructions that you need to sew as you please and not follow the direct orders of the jailers, Di realizes that the alignment with her own execution does not suit her. One autumn night, she escapes from the punishment cell and finds dry leaves. Sprinkling them all over the church, she finds "devil's sticks" (matches), fortunately, she knew where to get them, because she and the late Lawrence used them for a picnic. The girl sets fire to a path of leaves and the wooden monastery begins to sink into a sea of fire. Before everything is burned to the ground, Odi frees his brothers and sister (they are chained to their beds at night, so they wear belts), and they escape. The realization that Di killed the occultists, whom she called her parents all her adult life, accelerates the progression of the disease and slightly undermines morale, but she goes to roam with the rest of her family. Now they need to find a place where they will not be searched for, because the cult is not limited to one shelter. The whole company will have to find out what the world in which they live really looks like.

After long wanderings, they find a sunken city in the ground, where they decide to settle. How did they survive? They went to nearby villages and stole everything they needed from there: from food to clothes. Everything goes well until a personal conflict breaks out in the family, as a result of which Odi and Bernard temporarily leave the family nest to resolve everything. Bernard decides to leave the family and go his own way, and Di, returning to the city, sees that it is burning with fire. Residents of nearby villages, which children have been terrorizing for several years, decided to arrange a carnival, where the scarecrow is the abode of thieves.

Odi is losing her mind, because everything that she treasured, on which her more or less stable condition was kept, has burned down. She is filled with memories of the orphanage and a sense of guilt. She sincerely believes that if she had not left then, she would have saved her loved ones. She stays in the city, trying to redeem herself in front of her friends. After collecting the ashes of her friends, she buries them at the burned building. After a while, the graves germinate with carnivorous plants (this is characteristic of the ashes of burned heresies. from their ashes grows a withered plant that feeds not on water, but on flesh), which at the first opportunity will try to eat anyone who approaches them. For Odi, this becomes a symbol that she was not forgiven for burning, so she comes to the graves every day and waters the dead plants, hoping that one day it will blossom.

The plant has not bloomed, but Di's disease is blooming. She begins to hallucinate, her second self appears - a selfish and impulsive animal that always whispers to her that no one else will help her.

BILL

friend

Actually, Odi doesn’t think that Bill is her friend and it's mutual. He is just a barman who always listens to her confessions when she is drunk. Rarely it becomes a dialogue where both say what they think, sometimes it even turns into a quarrell. Despite all this, Odi returns to the bar every time to see ‘an old yeller’.
