Dae

Personality:

Kind/Gentle – Dae is naturally kind and gentle and can barely bring herself to kill a fly let alone hurt someone else with only one exception.

Begrudging – Although nice, Dae holds very strong and deep grudges against those who greatly wound her. 

Rebellious/Stubborn – She can be very stubborn, especially when it’s something involving Nite. Her initial hatred of his entire existence often made her act rebellious against him despite that not being in her best interest. She also generally has trouble following the commands of others and often goes off to do her own thing despite any consequences that may arise.

Childish – Dae is very much a child due to growing up being pampered and babied all her life. She has no regard for her actions and acts on her emotions/impulses. She will often act cold and pouty to things she doesn’t like. 

Curious – After leaving the safety of her home Dae is finally able to experience the world, which she is very curious about. She loves to learn and see new things. She can get very excited over seemingly common things, although she tries to control herself.

Original Verse:

Dae has been engaged since she was born to a man she has never met. Despite her constant attempts to get to know him (writing letters, etc) he seemingly has no interest in her at all, which disheartens her and over the years she develops a distain for her betrothed despite never actually meeting him. It didn’t help that the people around her installed her with images of monsters whenever they mentioned Nite, the Demon king of the West, the monster, the killer.

 With her promised wedding day coming up, Dae finds she cannot go through with such a thing to a monster who does not love her and therefore decided to run away – unaware that the engagement was all a scheme. Dae doesn’t make it very far before getting herself in trouble, though to her relief she is saved by the witch/dragon, Ciera Belle, who initially insists on taking her back to the palace. However, Dae is able to convince Ciera to help her escape across the border to Solaria after explaining her situation.

The pair traverses the country, encountering many obstacles before they almost make it to Solaria, however, they are betrayed by someone they thought was a friend and are instead handed over to Samiran soldiers. It’s only a matter of days before Dae finally comes face-to-face with her enemy, King Nite, whom forces her to marry him on the same day. She continually frustrates him with her stubbornness, believing him to be exactly like the monster she grew up being told he was.

Dae is taken to the capital for safe keeping, though she feels like a prisoner (which she technically is). Slowly she learns things about Samirak and Nite and her views begin to change. She learns some particularly important details while Nite is away at battle and realizes she was wrong the whole time.

When Nite returns injured, Dae finally learns where her heart truly lays and she accepts Nite as her husband. The pair develops a loving relationship though they go though much with the war.

• Dae always wears a diamond shaped pendant. It is set with a orange gemstone made from Nite’s crystalized blood which she received from him on their wedding day. It’s a protective amulet.
• Dae possesses magical powers, however, she is untrained. Her magic is light/earth. She can basically grow flowers and create small bursts of light atm and that's it.

Fashion Style:

Tiorne - Tiorne has a somewhat unique style of clothing compared to Samirak. All clothes consist of a loose under layer with a series of decorative panels making up the main garnment. Panels are typically square or rectangular in shape and joined at the top with the bottom hanging loose or held together with ribbon. The under layer/s are usually made up of white lacy/chiffon/cotton material or a combination of any of the three. Tiorne is a sunny and hot country and most clothes are shortened to no higher than the knee for comfort.

Popular clothing patterns are family sigils or sun designs as homage to the Sun god whom the Tiorne worship. Bright and light colours are common. Dark colours are rare and often indicate strangers/ suspicious people.

Samirak -The country of Samirak is made up of many different countries that were once independent and have since been united under one banner. This means that there are many different styles of clothing that can be attributed to being Samiran. The capital, where Nite lives, is heavily based on traditional medieval attire (think similar to GoT). Due to the generally cold weather most outfits will consist of many layers and be combined with robes and capes. Fur is also popular, especially for Nite.

Nite often wears lush capes with wolf or fox skin accents. He also wears light armour regularly consisting of a mix of leather and metal (chainmail/pauldron/gauntlets/tasset).

Samiran clothing consists ONLY of DARK colours with either gold or silver accents. It is rare to see light or bright coloured clothes save for undergarments.

** Dae may be drawn in either Tiorne or Samiran style clothing. Since she makes her own clothes it is also ok to draw Dae in dark coloured Tiorne style clothes as that is the main style of clothing she knows how to make in her first years in Samirak.
