Astilbe is a guard in Anemone's harem and one of her partners
Physical Description
Astilbe, as expected of a guard, is fairly tall and strong. She has short curly reddish brown hair that peeks out from under her helmet and brown eyes. She has a scar on the left side of her face from a robbery incident at Anemone's mansion. Astilbe also doesn't tend to take her armour off except in the presence of Anemone, hiding most of her body language under it and appearing cold to most people.
Personality
Astilbe is stoic and quiet, a steady but easy to miss presence in any room she's in. Growing up constantly feeling inadequate for reasons she couldn't explain, under her emotionless exterior Astilbe has a shy personality. She is great at confrontation when it comes to her job as a guard, however she has problems opening up to others. Despite this Astilbe is also deeply caring and tries her best to be helpful to those around her even in small gestures. She feels her best when she can comfort others with her presence and loves being Anemone and the harem's guard for that reason.
In private, Astilbe opens up way more. Her wise nature shines through and she feels more comfortable speaking.

Lady Anemone: Astilbe believes that the only person who truly knows her and sees her for who she is, is Anemone. While Astilbe had been slowly catching onto the fact that she was trans at the time of their first meeting as well, it's Anemone who gives her the space and strength to accept and come to terms with herself. She adores Anemone's emotional intelligence, overwhelming energy and determination. Astilbe wakes up everyday wanting to be next to Anemone's side even if it means getting wildly out of her comfort zone and she especially loves working as a guard at the harem. Anemone gives Astilbe love and a safe space, while also allowing her to learn to get out of her comfort zone at her own pace.
Dame Ekin: Meeting Ekin for the first time while accompanying Anemone during her visit to Niferos, Astilbe can't help but see herself in the knight. She can sense Ekin's uncertainty on getting to date someone from the upperclass; the responsibilities it brings and the crushing sense of duty she feels towards ensuring the safety of her partner. Both of them are people hired for their swords and not their brains, being put in a position where they have to require both. Astilbe offers companionship the only way she knows how, quietly and maybe a bit too coldly; but Ekin understands the gesture and accepts immediately, relieved to find someone who understands her fears.
Trivia
The reason she uses the name "Astilbe" is because of the impact Anemone had on her. While still liking her real name Arden; Astilbe feels more like herself when her nickname is used because of how close it makes her feel to Anemone, which in turns makes her feel more close to herself.
Astilbe was scarred on the left side of her face when she wasn't even on patrol. Getting up to get a glass of water during the night, Astilbe came upon the thief by pure chance in her plain clothes unarmed. The thief made a move towards her face but missed when Astilbe stepped back on instinct and managed to save her eye. The two wrestled and Astilbe managed to overpower the man despite having no weapons on her. Her wound was treated very carefully over the following weeks by a very loving Anemone.
