One of Erda's batch babies, created at the same time as Isairis.

Kalisa is spunky and bouncy. She loves to keep in motion, always running around recklessly. Her attention span is short.

Kalisa spent a lot of time being tossed around by Braask and a grew up with her younger cousin, Sarraabia. Both tended to roughhouse a lot, which only worsened once Kalisa was offered (but also basically demanded) lycanthropy via her mother. Now that she and Sarraabia were on equal turf so to speak, the repair expenses shot through the roof. They proudly bore scars from a worthy opponent after that fight. (Of course, as they grew they realized how ridiculous their antics were, and by silent agreement, the stories behind those scars grew ever more fantastical and large.)

Eventually, Sarraabia ran away from home. Despite her pleading, Kalisa wanted to get permission from her parents to leave-- obviously this was impossible because Sarraabia’s plans would be revealed. This caused a painful goodbye, and possibly the first division between them in their lifetimes. Sarraabia left immediately, without saying where she was going, leaving Kalisa behind.

Kalisa fell into depression for awhile, feeling no motivation to do anything but lie around, in the lab, in her room, and sometimes on the roof. Braask stopped visiting for a long time, and Kalisa always felt it was because her aunt knew she knew something about Sarraabia’s disappearance, even though Kalisa honestly didn’t. Kalisa stopped fighting, for training or sport, for a good while. It wasn’t until later, when a group of monks came to town, that it was suggested to Kalisa she train with them. It took several days to work up the motivation, but Kalisa met with the monks and observed their skills. It stirred her interest.

Kalisa dove into training, spending her time with the monks and pushing herself to exhaustion every day. It filled the gap that Sarra’s departure had left, and pushed all other distraction from her mind. It was hard work, and Kalisa came home more than once bloodied and every day bruised, but steadily happier.

Kalisa worked her way through monk training, becoming more proficient and disciplined as she grew. She grew into a proud young woman who wasn’t willing to take shit from anyone, and always smiled.

Then one day, Sarraabia came back. Sarraabia had changed drastically during her time away. Her skin was scarred, her clothing worn, and her manner… cold and wary. She looked formidable, and powerful, and a little terrifying, truth be told. When Sarraabia and Kalisa met after all the years apart, it was shocking. They slowly approached each other, then gripped hands. Each tested their strength against the other, and anyone who watched expected a fight, but instead, the years seemed to fall away from both and they were suddenly grinning and threw themselves into a hug that lasted for minutes. It was as if the years apart didn’t exist in that moment, and they felt their friendship rekindled.
