Callum ward son of Laria and Gavin Ward, Callum was the only child his parents ever had. They lived on the outskirts of the city. With his father being a soldier for the kingdom he would often be gone for half of the days. Leaving his mom to take care of him alone. As he was growing up, he started to get angry for his father never being around and resented him because of it. With the times his father has been home he would avoid him or barely talk to him. His mother took note of this and decided to show his father’s nightly training. Callum never knew that his father would train late at night. Thinking after a long day of work he would like to eat then rest for the next day. His mom told him to stay hidden as she walked over to his father and told him to call for the night. She saw that one of his hands was bleeding and covered it with a cloth.

Seeing that shocked Callum, he didn’t know that his father would continue training with how his hands were and it didn’t phase him at all. But what his father said next made him think differently about him. “ He hates me doesn’t he? I mean, I can’t blame him for it, it must’ve been hard for the both of you without me being around so long. But….., I can’t stop now, I won't. I must get stronger to protect the people of the city, to protect both of you if the city ever gets attacked. I wouldn’t know what to do If I lost both of you simply because I wasn’t strong enough or fast enough to come save you.” Hearing his father saying that and feeling how dedicated he was to work. He understands why his mother wanted to be hidden from his father's eyes.

His mother came back to him and tucked him to bed. The next morning he looked at his dad’s hand. Still covered with the cloth his mother bandaged him with. He apologized on how he behaved towards his dad. He did share how felt about his father’s absence and even cried. Expecting his father to be mad at him or upset over his behavior. He even flinched when his bandaged hand moved towards his head. But instead of getting hit, he was patted on his head and looked up at his dad. His father was crying as well but had the biggest smile. Telling him it’s okay and he had every right to be mad at him. But he apologized to his son as well about his absence. Forgiving each other and fixing the relationship they had.

As he grew older, his father would slowly go up in the ranks towards knighthood and finally when Callum turned 15. His father finally achieved his knighthood by doing the final blow to a monster that invaded the city. Because of his knighthood both Callum and his mother were able to move close to the central part of the city. Seeing his father's ceremony into knighthood really inspired him to follow in his father’s footsteps. What surprised him the most was that there were others just like him who wanted to be taught by his father. He did know a few things about fighting with a sword thanks to his father. But he wanted to learn more and what his father did next was unexpected.

He started questioning those who wanted him to be their mentor. Depending on the answer he receives and a demonstration of their skills. He would decide if he wanted to train them or not. When it was his turn to give him his answer he spoke it from his heart. How he has seen how much it means to be a soldier. It was never about ranks, it was about the oath that was taken. To protect those who can’t protect themselves, putting your life on the line and taking action to do what’s right. Even during the battle demonstration he was very much outmatched. But he always got back up on his feet, never giving up so easily. The spar kept going to the point that callum was knocked out. He woke in the infirmary and saw his father waiting for him to wake. Callum felt like a failure with how the spar turned out. Though his father congratulated him and was going to be his mentor. He was very confused about the results and wanted to know why he was chosen. Because he never gave up, even though he was hurt from the spar, and his determination to continue the fight. That’s what made his final decision to teach him.

From there Callum swears to train as much as he could and get stronger like his father. He started with sword training as it was the first thing his father learned how to do. He was able to learn how to fight with a sword. But for some reason it felt off to him and couldn’t get to his full potential. His father noticed this and recommended trying different kinds of weapons. He has tried a lot of weapons and has a good arm at throwing javelins. Though the weapon he has settled for is the battle axe. It felt more natural for him and he was able to be versatile with it. Having a shield and battle axe was his preferred combo.

Years later, it was for him another day of training with him and his father. He didn’t know that they were expecting company. So while training he heard his father bellow out a hello to a stranger. At first he didn’t recognize the stranger but the more he looked at him. He recognized that it was an old friend of his from his childhood. He barely remembered how he looked and was surprised by how much he had changed. But he remembered how his eyes looked. He always found it cool that he had two different eye colors. So of course he welcomed walfyr along with his father. Then from there they cut their training early to take walfyr to his home. Though he did notice that he wasn’t comfortable in the city life. But he assured him that will get used to it eventually.

When they finally arrive home, before they even get to introduced him, his mother immediately recognized walfyr and went over to hug the boy. She was very excited to see him again. She did give walfyr the tour of their home and offered him lunch. For Callum he’s very excited to have another training partner. He didn’t hide at all and talked to walfyr. Even helped him settle into his new room next to him. As much he wanted to talk to him till bedtime his mother wouldn’t allow it. Telling him that walfyr was getting a bit overwhelmed for his first day. He didn’t even realized that walfyr was feeling that way. He would’ve been fine if walfyr was honest with him. But then it’s something he has to get used to. From one of the lessons he has learned from his father. He had to adapt with walfyr and learn about him at his pace. So out of respect he made sure not to disturb walfyr for his first night of rest.

Eventually the boys did finally got closer and closer together. Forming a relationship between the two and became inseparable. Always showing their affection to each other. Never showing fear to show his affection to his lover.
