A PITIFUL SUN CHILD FORGOTTEN IN THE FACE OF THE BRIGHTER SUN
promised to him...

- burn scar alongside the under of his whole right arm.
one part of a pair of twins, borne with the blessings of the sun. their birth was celebrated, and they were named in relation to the brightest star — he was given the name Senja and his twin, Arunika. as the first born, a lot of grandeur and expectations were put on him, however as time passes someone else ended up stepping up to the plate and going even beyond what was expected.
suddenly, Arunika became the gloried one and Senja was inadvertently cast aside. no one treated him badly per se, but for someone who had been praised all throughout his growth, the sudden blaseness was something he could not cope with. gradually, invisibly, he started retracting more and more into the deep shadows and the once blessed sun child was now looked upon with pity for being overshadowed by his blood relative.

TWIN: ARUNIKAa blunt and black-and-white person whose ideals and thoughts belong to either extreme sides and never in-between. though she thinks of her brother as someone precious, he is a the direct victim and main recipient of her often thoughtless words causing him to pull away from her.
BURN SCARhe got his burn scar from a training accident. having pushed himself too hard causing his mind to exhaust and muddle, Senja lost control of his fire. at that time, his frustration towards his inability to strengthen his fire were great and Senja did not yet know that extreme emotion was fueling his fire until it was too late. suddenly a fire so big and bright sparked from his hand, immediately melting his anger into fascination and proudness. just as quickly though it turned into fear as his fire kept on growing and beginning to engulf his whole arm. it was in that state that a cleaning maid saw him who quickly extinguished the fire by splashing him with the dirty mop water she was carrying.

Senja's fire:his fire and power is a direct response to his emotions. when his emotions reaches a great height, so will his fire. for senja who’s most prominent emotion is defeat and numbness, the flame’s state is just stagnant.
later down the line, his fire becomes what he wants it to be. big, bright, hot, and even beautiful as it rise golden and glitters under light. its because more than numbness, he is now in a constant state of a despairing sadness. for his physical defect, his mental state, his ruined relationships. even when others realizes his newfound powers and shower him with praises, he just retreated away from the attention, most content with spending his time with just himself and his golden fire.
- senja's like a walking encyclopedia. he tried to compensate for his lacking firepower with smarts.
- hes good at braiding lol (he used to braid arunika's before their falling out. now he just braids his horse's mane...)
...in the shadows of the better blood
their relationship is an awkward one with Senja who sees their bond as broken and irrepairable, and Arunika who sees it as strained but mendable once Senja gets stronger and they’re on level grounds. Arunika is seen often to be training with Senja. from her perspective, she is helping by critiquing and praising him when needed. however, for Senja who at this point are so mentally and physically beaten (during training) and struggling, even her praises seemed like mockery that further causes the rift between them to deepen (unbeknowst to Arunika.)
