- He smells like sea salt, lavender, smoke and leather.
- He smokes tabacco through a pipe often blowing smoke rings.
Personality
trait . trait . trait
Eliot embodies the quintessential Pirate Captain archetype — fond of rum, tinged with a touch of madness, oscillating between chaos and cruelty, yet displaying a keen love for strategy. He treats pirating and fighting with British guards like a game rather than anything serious which gets him in trouble every now and then.
Premise
He’s cursed. He came across a cursed treasure, the sword he currently wields, which enhances his luck (it basically gives him stupid luck, that often saves him from danger). However, there's a catch: he can't stay on land for more than a month otherwise he will transform into some kind of a sea monster/merfolk every night (or becomes deadly sick, haven’t figured that one yet). He consistently refrains from remaining on land for more than a month, apprehensive of the impending consequences that could befall him.
Backstory
Eliot's childhood was a tumultuous journey through the murky waters of poverty and neglect. Born into a small family in a port city, Eliot's world was marred by an emotionally absent mother and a father whose only companions were the bottles of alcohol he drowned himself in. Eliot's father squandered whatever little money they had on his addiction, leaving the family in a perpetual state of savouring every single penny.
From a young age, Eliot sought solace in the port city’s tavern that dotted the waterfront. It was here that he found himself enthralled by the tales spun by weathered sailors, recounting their encounters with monstrous sea creatures and treacherous voyages across the unforgiving ocean. These stories ignited a fiery passion within Eliot, a longing to escape his dreary existence and embark on his own adventures upon the high seas.
Desperate to earn his keep and escape the clutches of his abusive father, Eliot took on any odd job he could find in the bustling port town. Yet, his efforts were often in vain as his father would seize any money Eliot managed to earn, subjecting him to merciless beatings for daring to withhold it.
As the years wore on, the weight of his circumstances grew unbearable, and Eliot made a daring decision at the age of twelve - with a heart heavy with longing and determination burning bright within him, he fled from his stifling home in pursuit of his dreams. With nothing but the clothes on his back and a head full of dreams, Eliot set his sights on the horizon, where adventure awaited. He sought refuge aboard a pirate vessel. It was here, amidst the salty spray of the open sea and the creaking timbers of the ship, that Eliot found a sense of belonging he had never known. Guided by seasoned buccaneers and fueled by his own indomitable spirit, Eliot embraced the life of a swashbuckler and later Pirate Captain, setting sail for the unknown and neverending search for treasures.

He consistently refrains from remaining on land for more than a month, apprehensive of the impending consequences that could befall him.
