Theme Main & Battle

ico_btrozei_319.png
Spr_5b_319.png

i_old_choice-scarf.png BABY Water Dark Lv. 90

Jolly nature. Strong willed.

Rough Skin - Hurts to touch.

Waterfall • Ice Beam • Crunch • Return

Edwin's ace and lifetime partner. It had known Edwin all its life and it never left his side since it could remember. For a Sharpedo its size and strength, Baby is docile and playful; rarely baring its teeth to intimidate anyone and even let people pet its head.

Sometimes, its natural Sharpedo instincts would take over and scare the others away; however, it always try to apologize and make up for its sudden aggression by bringing gifts or doing tricks out of its own will. Edwin is oftentimes amazed at how human Baby can be.

Spr_5b_354.png

banettite.png BOO Ghost Lv. 70

Naughty nature. Strong willed.

Insomnia - The Pokémon cannot fall asleep.

Dark Pulse • Phtm Force • Thndr Wave • Shdw Ball

A mischievous, sociable Banette who has a penchant for tricks and showmanship. Edwin had met Boo as a wandering Shuppet in Route 13. Still terrified of the Lacunosa Town's legend at that time, Edwin ran away from the Shuppet. That was until the trainer noticed that the small pokémon was only trying to comfort him by feeding off his sadness and worries.

Sometimes Boo would show a remnant of its Shuppet self; whenever Edwin felt gloomy or angry, Boo would always float behind him and be by his side until he felt better, even when it cannot absorb negative emotions like it had before it evolved.

Spr_5b_059.png

i_old_charcoal.png BREAD Fire Lv. 70

Hardy nature. Good endurance.

Intimidate - It intimidates opposing Pokémon.

Howl • Electric Fang • Flame Charge • Extrm Speed

Much like its family, Bread is a regal, domineering Arcanine who proudly guards the team from any imminent threat and danger.

Bread was quite a handful when Edwin met it for the first time in Route 7, the little Growlithe loved gnawing and chewing on his clothes and belongings, roughhousing the other pokémon, and eating all the food the young trainer had prepared for the team.

As Bread travelled from city to city, fighting trainers and their pokémon, and experiencing the world alongside its trainer and companions, the evolved Arcanine quickly matured into a dependable comrade.

Spr_5b_462.png

i_old_magnet.png BUZZ Electric Steel Lv. 70

Quiet nature. Alert to sounds.

Sturdy - Negates 1-hit KO attacks.

Flash Cannon • Zap Cannon • VoltSwitch • Thunderbolt

A very dutiful, dependable Magnezone who likes to be helpful to everyone around it. Edwin had met Buzz as a small, inquisitive Magnemite near the Seaside Cycling Road. Edwin tried to let it free to join its flock, yet the Magnemite refused to leave the young trainer alone, and it had stayed by his side eversince. It established its place in the group as a bag-carrier, going from holding small berry pouches as a Magnemite to essentials such as firewoods or travel bags as a Magnezone.

During the night, it will stand in watch for any dangers lurking around the team's campsite. Sometimes it would share guard duties with the insomniac Banette Boo or the formidable Arcanine Bread.

Spr_5b_334.png

altarianite.png BIRB Dragon Flying Lv. 70

Mild nature. Nods off a lot.

Natural Cure - Status heals upon switching out.

Moonblast • Roost • Dragon Pulse • Fly

Unlike its charming and handsome appearance, Birb is a rather absentminded and carefree Altaria. It enjoys the simple things in life, such as flying around the sky, enjoying the sea breeze, or simply taking a short nap next to its trainer.

Even as a small Swablu, Birb likes to sit on top of Edwin's head and cuddle up to him during nighttime, finding comfort in being close with its trainer. But it was no surprise to Edwin, as the avian had imprinted on him since it was a little hatchling.

Spr_5b_428.png

i_old_muscle-band.png BUNNY Normal Lv. 70

Adamant nature. Strong willed.

Klutz - The Pokémon can't use any held items.

High Jump Kick • Reversal • Shadow Ball • Brutal Swing

The heavy-hitter combatant of the team, who also happened to be a very fashionable and cool-headed Lopunny that had won many Coolness Contests around the globe.

It likes to wear Edwin's jackets and shirts, having fun mixing and matching different articles of clothing and sometimes would even help its trainer buy new clothes. Thanks to its fashionable quirk and stoic disposition, many pokémon became infatuated with it, much to the Lopunny's annoyance.

summary

Edwin is a Pokémon Trainer who currently resides in Konikoni City, Alola. He was born in Sevii Island, Kanto. He set out on a mission to return a castaway Carvanha back to its family when he was just 10 years old, and he grew to love travelling the world and making precious memories with his pokémon.

Despite his timid looks and calm manners, Edwin never backs down from a challenge. He grew from the cowarly young trainer who used any means to win his battles, even if it hurts his pokémon; into a seasoned trainer who has enduring pride and undying trust in his companions.

He had won many challenges and once even beaten the Kanto champion, but he decided rather than climbing higher into power, he would enjoy his youth and experience the world alongside his companions.

Proud

Bitter

Much like every passionate pokémon trainers around him, Edwin has an unyielding resolve to show everyone what he's capable of. He prides himself of all the accomplisments he's had as a pokémon trainer, and whenever he's defeated in a battle, he would feel a deep jab in his ego. He would not act on his bitterness, but he would sulk for days on end. Though more often than not, those loss would become a motivation for him to do better next time.

He particularly likes to live in solitude, much rather spending his time thinking to himself while watching his pokémon play around. But when his help is needed, he never hesitates to lend a helping hand, always striving to become a useful asset to his community than to burden those around him.

Edwin cares deeply for his pokémon. He's had his mistakes in the past, and he'd often mull over whenever he's in his bad days. As a result, he'd often give extra affection to his companions; buying them toys and clothes, cooking them food, finding a space big enough so they all would rest comfortably, and many more 'nice things' that would heal his guilt and worry.

Sevii

Edwin was born in the secluded archipelago of Knot Island, the home of Mt. Ember. He always had a close bond with fire pokémon because his parents were fire-type specialists before they retired. It was through his mother's Rapidash and his father's Arcanine that he'd learn the affection of flame.

Young Edwin had never shown any interest in venturing the world, already comfortable spending his time taking care of their family's pokémon. However, the trajectory of his life would forever be changed as he found an injured, newly-hatched Carvanha stranded near the Seagallop Ferry docks.

It was a challenge to keep the lone Carvanha safe and cozy in their household, with the infant pokémon slashing and biting in retaliation at every turn it gets, afraid of the strangers that had kept it contained in their small pond. But with many love and patience, the Carvanha fully healed. Edwin had felt closer to the Carvanha than he had all of his parents' pokémon; and the Carvanha had grown to love Edwin with all of its being, extremely protective yet affectionate towards the young trainer-to-be.

Kanto

Upon stepping foot in Vermillion City and ultimately the main Kanto island for the very first time in his life, the young trainer was panic-stricken and sweating bullets. The realization that he was independent and so far away from home hit him all at once, and he was terrified of everything and everyone around him. Despite the city being a serene port town than a bustling busy metropolitan, it was more new people than he'd ever met back in his hometown.

Edwin had heard of Pokémon Gyms from the stories his parents had told him, and despite the initial dread, he was excited to finally be able to experience the "real world" with his trusty partner by his side. However, it was at this point in his life that he had experienced his first ever bitter defeat, and the feeling of spite towards electric type Pokémon would be carried throughout his life from then on.

He eventually would interrupt his fruitless battle in Lt.Surge's gym so that he could see more of Kanto, all while training his Carvanha to be stronger and stronger. And two days after arriving in the mainland, he caught his first ever Pokémon; a playful and energetic Growlithe playing in the grass near Saffron city's entrance. With the new addition to the team and more rigorous training, he eventually would claim his first ever Kanto Gym Badge from Vermillion City's electric gym leader. Upon realizing that Edwin was a brand new trainer, the gym leader contacted Professor Oak, and the kind professor would give him a cheerful little Charmander.

Not long after receiving a new companion from the professor, he caught an Oddish on his way to Saffron City, making it the 4th member of his team. Together with all four of his pokémon, he continued to move from city to city, challenging gym leaders and earning badges after badges.

His trainer journey in Kanto would come into a halt just as he was all set to depart to Cinnabar Island with almost a full team; his fearless Carvanha, energetic Growlithe, sharp Gloom, and brave Charmeleon. He still felt like he was lacking experience as a trainer, and far too young to go against the rest of the gym leaders and Elite 4 just yet, so he turned back and made his way to the port, riding the first ferry from Vermillion City to Olivine City in Johto.

Johto

Despite the mesmerising sceneries of the Johto region, Edwin was solely focused on training himself to be a better trainer for his pokémon's sake. He met many new pokémon during his trip around Johto, but his guilt and worries does not let him consider catching any of them.

Through steel determination and willpower, Edwin managed to evolve all four of his companions; his little Oddish was now a big intelligent Vileplume, his Growlithe a towering Arcanine, his Charmeleon a proud Charizard, and his partner Carvanha a strong, brave Sharpedo. He felt greatly accomplished, and seeing how many gym badges he'd gathered from Kanto to Johto fill him to the brim with pride. However, he still felt like he was lacking in experience, noting that he's only had four out of six pokémon so far in his roster.

And so, he once again departed to Hoenn, determined to find new companions to join his team and be a part of their adventure.

Hoenn

Edwin found that he really enjoyed biking around the vast land of Hoenn. Being born in a small volcanic island, he hadn't gotten the chance to experience what it felt like to feel the cool breeze hit his face as he ride his bicycle up mountains, through deserts, and in the midst of grassfields.

As he arrived in Route 110, heading from Slateport to Mauville, he almost ran his bike straight into a Magnemite. He bruised himself, but luckily the small pokémon was completely unhurt. He tried to tell the Magnemite to go back to its family, but it followed him as he made his way through the grass and trainers in Route 110. He decided to keep the curious Magnemite safe with him until he could reach New Mauville, thinking that its family must've been inside of the abandoned power plant.

On his way to Meteor Falls, he'd spotted a tiny hatchling near the rocks of Route 114. Upon closer inspection, he found a tiny Swablu resting in its eggshell, snoring away without any care in the world. Edwin took the young chick back to Fallarbor Town and nurse it back to health with Professor Cozmo's help. The meteoriticist was not equipped with the knowledge of caring for pokémon, but he advised Edwin to accept the hatchling as one of his own companions.

Time passed since he'd stepped in Hoenn for the first time, and Edwin finally remembered that he had not visited the abandoned power plant just yet. With haste, he flew back to Mauville and surfed to New Mauville, intending to finally reunite his (now evolved) Magneton with its family. Yet his plan ultimately failed, as the Magneton insistently trailed behind him, buzzing happily and ignoring all the other electric pokémon all around the building. Edwin asked the pokémon if it was sure it would like to stay with him as he travels around the world, and the enthusiastic beeps and boops were enough to convince him of the Magneton's wishes.

As Edwin was ready to leave New Mauville to continue his adventure, he was startled by the electronic noises coming from behind him, followed closely by a familiar blinding light surrounding his Magneton. It was the first time in his life he'd seen a Magnezone up close, but his surprise soon turned to pride and joy as the Magnezone circled him and buzzed happily; no matter how much it had grown, his Buzz is still the small Magnemite he'd met back in Route 110.

Sinnoh

Wanting a much-needed break from the stress of being a trainer, Edwin set on to Sinnoh as a chance to get away from it all. He's had the sixth and final pokémon to complete a full team, and he could go back to Kanto to finish the path of every starry-eyed trainer had longed for, yet his body and mind was pleading him to take a breather, and so he did.

It was the first time in forever that he's had the time to truly take in the gorgeous landscape around him, and he enjoyed his time in Sinnoh. But with how everything is so much colder than what he's used to, he was prone to getting a cold each time they move to a different area. However, his poor health didn't deter his spirit, and he enjoyed battling trainers and training his pokémon all the same.

Upon his journey throughout Sinnoh, he found a lone Buneary in Eterna Forest. He had heard that it was the only place in all of Sinnoh that one can find wild Bunearies, and he couldn't help himself but to catch one. The small Buneary quickly befriended him and all the other pokémon in his team, much to his surprise. He'd thought to himself of how cool this little creature acts.

By the time he's reached the far north Snowpoint City, his Swablu had evolved into a beautiful Altaria. He had the time of his life among the cold snow, and was actually contemplating on finding a permanent residence in the lovely town in the future.

Unova

Edwin was once more brought back to the feeling of fear and anxiety at the busy hubbub of Unova, particularly Castelia City, much like the time when he first stepped out of the harbor in Vermillion City years ago.

Far too overwhelmed by the enormous buildings around him, Edwin found himself stumbling around buildings and people, and finally found his peace in a quiet, serene park, somwehere deep inside the big loud city. As he was in the middle of catching his breath underneath the single tree in the middle of the 'park', a pokémon suddenly jumped on him and he had no choice but to prepare for battle. Upon realizing that his opponent was a wild Eevee, growling warily at him, he lowered his guard and peacefully captured the pokémon.

It took Edwin quite a trial to gain the little Eevee's trust. It reminded him of his trusted partner, back when Baby was still a wary Carvanha. Much like his struggle back then, the angry scratches and feral hiss was worth the effort. His Eevee one day suddenly evolved into an elegant Sylveon.

Nums was still a rather prideful Sylveon, but Edwin found that the pokémon was particularly fond of being admired and praised by many. It quickly takes a liking to Pokémon Contests.

Edwin made his way from the hustle and bustle of Castelia city to the peaceful and quiet Undella Town. His pokémon and him thoroughly enjoyed their break in the quiet, luxurious getaway resort. However, his peace was put into an abrupt halt as he heard whispers and gossips about Lacunosa Town, just northwest of the town.

He felt as he was being haunted by (what he thought was) a spirit as he heads to Route 13, his morbid curiosity slightly defeating his fear of the supernatural. Yet no matter how much the spirit bothered him during his sleep, he slowly got over his initial fright, and only by then was he able to take in the sight of the ghost that was haunting him; a small Shuppet insistently hovering near him. He had no idea that a Shuppet would ever feed off of anything but anger and envy, but the little creature seemed like it was happy being near him. So he pulled out yet another Ultra Ball and welcomed the Shuppet to his team.

Despite the initial panic, Edwin found himself enjoying his journey in Unova. He was quite surprised when he realized it had been a long while since he first arrived in the island. At the end of his journey in Unova, Edwin had to buy a small bag just to hold all the contest ribbons and medals that his tough Sylveon and cool Banette had won throughout their journey in Unova.

Kalos

Edwin was completely floored by amount of new things he had discovered in Kalos. The friendly Professor Sycamore had welcomed him with open arms, and introduced him to the wonders of Mega Evolution. It felt like only yesterday that he'd held his first pokéball, and now he'd learned so much from his journey. Not only that the professor equipped him with a Key Stone, he generously offered Edwin a new companion. He had never seen a calm, yet strangely energetic creature before, and he quickly grew fond of his Froakie.

Kalos had opened the doors for Edwin to enjoy a taste of luxury. He'd spent a fortune on new clothes, accessories, and cuisine during his trip. With all the money that he had saved up all the way from his first day in mainland Kanto, he splurged it for his companions; he dressed them up in fancy new garments, treat them to many snacks, and take them to fancy new places. Among all of his pokémon, Bunny was the fondest of the brand new outfits.

It was not long after receiving his Froakie that he'd found yet another wonderful creation to behold, fossil revivals. His extended stay in Ambrette Town rewarded him with a new addition to the team, a small, ravenous Tyrunt that he'd fondly named Chomper.

Much like his visit to Snowpoint City in Sinnoh, he ached to stay in the quiet and peaceful Ambrette Town. But he shoved aside his longing and prepared for a very long journey down South to Alola.

Sevii

Edwin took a quick detour and went back home to his family back in Sevii Islands. It had been many, many years since he'd last set foot in his own home, and not much had changed in the tiny island since he'd left his hometown to travel the world. His parents and townsfolks celebrated his return and praised him at how much he'd grown over the years he's been away.

The trainer settled in comfortably in his old bedroom, a rush of nostalgia filled him as he saw the angry bites at the wooden furniture all around his house. He promptly took one familiar Pokéball and headed down to the Seagallop Ferry docks.

His Sharpedo and he sat in silence as they watched the sun set over the quiet horizon, the sea slowly turning dark as night had fallen. The two couldn't communicate just like humans or pokémon do with one another, yet the silence between them spoke louder than any chatters or cries can ever be.

On the night before he was set to depart for Alola, he was startled awake by a Ghastly emerging from the ceiling of his bedroom. Thankfully, his Banette could communicate with the lone spirit, and it was clear that the pokémon meant no harm to him. Perhaps it was the sentimental moment that he'd shared with his Sharpedo earlier in the day, but he offered the Ghastly to stay with his team and travel the world together, to which the pokémon enthusiastically accepted.

Alola

Alola felt like home to Edwin, despite the terrifying amount of deep ocean dotted around the archipelago. Just like back home, his Sharpedo had the time of its life jetting around the vast ocean. His Charizard and Altaria joined the fun and happily glided through the clear air together, much like the legendary duo Latios and Latias.

Edwin had taken his time exploring Alola, the warm day making him more laid-back than usual. He took a short nap in the opening just across the bridge from Melemele Meadow as he enjoyed the view of the light blue sky and deep blue sea. He'd let his pokémon roam free and enjoy the beautiful sunny day before dozing off to sleep beneath the lone tree. Much to his surprise, he came back to his hotel room with a mischievous Bagon inside of his backpack, seemingly content after eating almost all of his snacks.

Edwin enjoyed participating in the Island Trials, and he met a tiny Fomantis after completing the Akala Island's trial. The two new pokémon quickly became friends with eachother, and they two grew stronger beside eachother as they completed trials after trials.

After finishing the last of his island trial, Edwin went back to Konikoni City. He fell in love with the friendly atmosphere and gorgeous view of the vast blue sea, where his pokémon could enjoy the land, sky, and sea around them. After much time had passed, he happily settled in his brand new home, just near the lighthouse.
