General personality: Polterneuma is stubborn, determined and extremely defensive. He's very good at tearing people apart over simple snide remarks, which generally makes him an extremely unlikable person. Because few people have ever shown him that he was of worth, he finds little worth in others, and will happily use them as stepping stones to get to higher positions in life. Quiet unless provoked, its easy to exist in the same space if you say nothing and do your job. Polterneuma is upright and expects everything to be taken seriously, and does not tolerate failure. His rigid disposition and disagreeable nature hides a frail self confidence (cliche) and general hopelessness. Those who have the pleasure of making his acquaintance will often quickly be aggressively pushed away the moment they begin to learn too much about him. Holds intense grudges. Is extremely self conscious about his body in the presence of others.
Important physical features: Generally a very slim but athletic build. Dark skin, hazel/green eyes and a stern expression. Hair is shaved on the sides, longer on the top. Somewhat duck footed (out-toed). The right leg is amputated above the knee. Typically seen wearing black shirt and cargos, simple boots and a vest, or in full uniform.
Story: Polterneuma's early childhood was spent in the slums of society. His family lived in a shed barely large enough for a bed and he grew up practically on the street begging for food and washing in the gutters. He was raised to look up to the soldiers of the alternate world, called Mediators. And even though he didn't go to school, after working tooth and nail to be even remotely qualified, Polterneuma enlisted as a female officer at the age of 18. While he was accepted and trained to be a common officer at the time he found that life was especially difficult for who he was. After several traumatic situations that ended with the death of three other officers and the forceful resignation of two others due to personal actions on part of Polterneuma, he spent years battling court over the happenstances and effects of these actions. Following the end of his trials he reenlisted while going through active sex transition... something that he'd been keen on since he was a child, as well as something that would make his future career easier. He managed to rise in the ranks quickly, and was transferred to one of the larger Mediator facility portals for active duty as a high ranking officer.
There he adopted the name 'Bull Lion' because of the ruthless nature in which he tended to threats, and the charge he took when handling locals in the alternate world. Polterneuma demanded respect after years of working as a top officer. On one particular trip into the alternate world, he stumbled upon an injured man who had later revealed himself to be one of the magical demon beasts of the area. A strange alliance developed between them. While in human form, the man took on the alias 'Thatch' and too became a high ranking officer. In the alternate world he remained in his demon form as Polter's beast of burden. The title 'Demon Rider' was added onto his status, as the first officer to 'tame' a demon.
Random tidbits: Polter is a F to M trans. Lost his leg as a child in result to being thrown into a garbage truck... he'll kick you in the face if you ask about it. Can perform magic. Gay as F'ck.
